The Cuddle Quilter

Country Charmer Quilt along 2013. Wednesday, March 21, 2018. Hopping Along in March. Another glorious month of sewing! Love these cool winter days when I can warm up in my sewing room, jumping from project to project, starting a few new ones, and finishing a few old ones. Apparently Spring is on its way, but I think I'll continue my winter routine until the birds are chirping and the flowers are blooming! These were so much fun to make, each bunny coming together with its own little personality. It's suc...

The Cuddle Quilter: June 2014

http://lesleythecuddlequilter.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html

Country Charmer Quilt along 2013. Saturday, June 28, 2014. If Pumpkins Grew on Trees. I spent this week in my sewing corner with a quilt project I had started quite some time ago. The joy of picking up this UFO is that some of the cutting was already done. A few more sessions and I had produced a pumpkin patch quilt top which I am calling, "If Pumpkins Grew on Trees". As with many of my quilt projects, I spent some time drawing diagonal lines on my little squares. And I quickly progressed to chain sewing.

The Cuddle Quilter: June 2015

Country Charmer Quilt along 2013. Monday, June 15, 2015. Just Call me Nana C. On June 12, we became grandparents for the first time! We are thrilled that our little grandson entered the world safely to greet his mommy and daddy. All is well with the new family and as I said to my daughter, "Who needs sleep anyway? We'll be meeting him in the near future and will have lots of time to cuddle then. In the meantime, thank goodness for Face timing and Face book! When it was time to sew on the binding, I rolle...

Country Charmer Quilt along 2013. Tuesday, November 25, 2014. The Countdown is on. Two more days until me, myself and 11 of my crafty friends set up our Artisans Collective shop for the Olde Tyme Christmas. I am in my self-proclaimed race to the finish, trying to change those UFOs from Christmas past to Christmas presents. Yes, pun intended! In the past week, I have totally changed my plans for my Icicle Snowman runner. You can read about my original plans HERE. I finished up a couple of small table topp...

Country Charmer Quilt along 2013. Tuesday, January 27, 2015. The Ladies are Calling. Of course I am talking about the Downton Abbey ladies. If you read my post HERE. You'll know I have been inundated with glorious fabrics designed to celebrate the ladies of my favorite TV series, Downton Abbey. I continue to build this quilt, enjoying each and every step. Can you tell it was yet another windy day in the Strait area? The next step is to sew three narrow borders to the top and then begin the outer pieced b...

The Cuddle Quilter: Quilts and Baby Things

http://lesleythecuddlequilter.blogspot.com/2015/05/quilts-and-baby-things.html

Country Charmer Quilt along 2013. Tuesday, May 12, 2015. Quilts and Baby Things. A couple of weeks ago, our local quilt guild hosted the AGM for the Ocean Waves Quilt Society. Over 100 quilters attended the event held at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre. Here is a look at what we saw that day. I changed the pattern a bit so the mat would fold up into a larger rectangle to reduce extra bulk since I used a home-decor fabric for the cover. With a baby boy on the way, I couldn't resist making a few necktie b...

Musings of a newbie sewer and quilter Mom. Saturday, July 28, 2012. I am sending it in to the Quilt Con Block Challenge. The challenge blocks are to use the QuiltCon colors to represent what modern quilting means to you. QuiltCon colors.check. This block represents modern quilting to me for a few reasons:. 1) The orange center is supposed to represent a compass. With social media and technology the world wide quilting community is united. Sunday, July 8, 2012. It has been one, hot, busy summer! Also the ...

Musings of a newbie sewer and quilter Mom. Monday, April 16, 2012. Table Runner Blog Hop. After my confusion on Monday, I was worried I would not be able to deliver on the goods today. Thank you so much for all those who reached out to me with messages of kind understanding and support. You know who you are! It meant very much to me. Meetings and Sew Ins. Monday, 27 July 2015. MMQG July Sew-In Day Recap. 13 is a lucky number for the MMQG. That's how many happy, motivated, productive quilters showed up to spend the day together finishing up projects or just socializing. What a fun day we had! And the afternoon continued with more of the same. The lighting was not good yesterday, so my phone pics aren't the best. Maybe you should come next time and get a way better look! Emily's very first quilt! Donna tries out piecing on her new Pfaff.

Meetings and Sew Ins. Saturday, 28 March 2015. Recap of our March Sew-In Day. A great time was had by all today at the March Sew-In of the Maritime Modern Quilt Guild. Special thanks to Atlantic Fabrics for hosting our get-together. The room was well equipped with irons and extension cords and cutting mats and lots of tables and of course, a whole fabric shop! Here are a few highlights from today. Lots of piecing for a special project. Quilters always play by the rules! Who doesn't love a Noodlehead Bag?

A few members ,who weren't present today, will receive their pouch next time we see them. Adrienne quilted away like crazy.

Crayon Box Quilt Studio: What is a 100 Good Wishes Quilt?

http://www.crayonboxquiltstudio.com/p/what-is-100-good-wishes-quilt.html

Completed Quilts and Projects. My Journey to Quilting. What is a 100 Good Wishes Quilt? What is a 100 Good Wishes Quilt? In northern China there is a centuries old tradition of creating a "Bai-Jia-Bei" otherwise known as a "100 Good Wishes Quilt" to welcome and celebrate a new life into the family. One hundred family and friends donate a piece of fabric along with a written wish for the baby-to-be. The wish can be anything: a quote, a poem, a saying, a verse or a simple wish from the heart. Whether adopt...

Lesley's Librarian Adventures

Lesley's Librarian Adventures. I got a new work computer yesterday, because my old computer had been fussy and slow for a while. Now I have a new, fast CPU with Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 2016! I’m enjoying learning about the new features, some by good ole poking around, and some by watching Lynda.com. The first Lynda.com video I’m tackling is one on Outlook 2016, since I’d love to create and keep a more organized inbox. More on that soon! December 7, 2016. Getting Ready for ALA Midwinter 2017.
