Lesley's Librarian Adventures

Lesley's Librarian Adventures. I got a new work computer yesterday, because my old computer had been fussy and slow for a while. Now I have a new, fast CPU with Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 2016! I’m enjoying learning about the new features, some by good ole poking around, and some by watching Lynda.com. The first Lynda.com video I’m tackling is one on Outlook 2016, since I’d love to create and keep a more organized inbox. More on that soon! December 7, 2016. Getting Ready for ALA Midwinter 2017.

Orlando Bound! | Lesley's Librarian Adventures

https://lesleythelibrarian.wordpress.com/2016/06/21/orlando-bound

Lesley's Librarian Adventures. I’m excited about heading to Orlando. Later this week for the ALA Annual Conference. I haven’t been to Orlando in about 30 years, not since Spring Break of my senior year of college. Wow. Unfortunately, I won’t make it to Disney World. This time, since I’ll be busy with conference meetings and programs, mostly having to do with my election as the incoming Treasurer-elect of the ALA New Members Round Table (NMRT). I’m hopeful that they’ll keep me entertained! June 21, 2016.

My First ALA Election | Lesley's Librarian Adventures

Lesley's Librarian Adventures. My First ALA Election. I ran in my first American Library Association. ALA) election this year, for the position of New Members Round Table. NMRT) Treasurer-elect. Results were announced on Friday, and I’m happy to report that I won! In the spirit of full disclosure, I didn’t have an opponent, but there was a place for voters to add a write-in candidate, and there was one (I don’t know who). So, I came away with 99.6% of the vote, which is okay! This summer in Orlando.

Lesley's Librarian Adventures. ALA Annual 2017 in Orlando. I had a good ALA Annual Conference in Orlando. The last weekend in June. Yes, it was really. Rudy, Lesley (me), and Beth at the Beta Phi Mu Meeting. Hot (but not as hot as Las Vegas was two years ago), and event venues were pretty spread out (again, somewhat like the Annual in Las Vegas), but I still had a good time! I attended several meetings related to my new gig as NMRT. Meeting and the NMRT Annual Reception sponsored by Mango Languages.

Adding Tech Skills | Lesley's Librarian Adventures

https://lesleythelibrarian.wordpress.com/2016/05/09/adding-tech-skills

Lesley's Librarian Adventures. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about adding skills to enhance my current job (and resume). While I’m super busy at work, picking up new skills could help a lot, right? The skillset I keep coming back to is technology. I enjoy my tech toys, but I know there’s a lot more I could learn about technology that could help my work (and maybe even my hobbies too! For some videos, and you know what’s on YouTube–pretty much everything! Profile– lynda.com. I’d love suggestions! You ar...

The Cuddle Quilter

Country Charmer Quilt along 2013. Wednesday, March 21, 2018. Hopping Along in March. Another glorious month of sewing! Love these cool winter days when I can warm up in my sewing room, jumping from project to project, starting a few new ones, and finishing a few old ones. Apparently Spring is on its way, but I think I'll continue my winter routine until the birds are chirping and the flowers are blooming! These were so much fun to make, each bunny coming together with its own little personality. It's suc...
