About Us - Let's Talk SPD

Was created to allow families to share their sensational lives with other families dealing with SPD. We realized that there were no support groups available in the South Florida community specifically for SPD. We want to provide an outlet for these families to express their feelings and concerns about SPD, and to guide them in any way possible so that their load feels less heavy. We also want to learn more about resources available to treat this condition.

WHAT IS SENSORY PROCESSING DISORDER? Sometimes called "sensory integration" or SI) is a term that refers to the way the nervous system receives messages from the senses and turns them into appropriate motor and behavioral responses. Whether you are biting into a hamburger, riding a bicycle, or reading a book, your successful completion of the activity requires processing sensation or "sensory integration.".
