Library Hopping In PDX. Exploring libraries in Multnomah, Washington and Clackamas counties. Whenever I want to improve myself, I always end up going to the library. I usually end up leaving with more books than I barely have the strength to carry. Another instance of using library resources to better myself happened quite recently- just now, in fact. I did the next best thing. I went to their website. I was introduced to Granger’s World of Poetry. I wanted something. The library helped me get it! Error:...

Library Hopping In PDX. Exploring libraries in Multnomah, Washington and Clackamas counties. The Road Trippin’ Adventures of Ericat and Muffin: In which She takes Him Library Hopping and wonders what She got Herself into. Planning for this involved many late nights on my part using an invaluable resource I discovered Oregon Library Map. After mapping out different routes- and I can’t really say how many I considered, we settled on Option 3a. What does one take on a trip like this? Being used. Familie...

Library Hopping In PDX. Exploring libraries in Multnomah, Washington and Clackamas counties. Troutdale Grand Opening Celebration. Any time there’s a new library opening, it’s definitely a time for celebration. More likely than not, we’re going to be there taking in the festivities. 2010 was great for library lovers since Multnomah County Library had recently opened their new Kenton. Location earlier in the year and now here we were for Troutdale’s Grand Opening Celebration. Cedar Mill Community Library.

Library Hopping In PDX. Exploring libraries in Multnomah, Washington and Clackamas counties. Sherman Alexie: A Stand Up Guy. This year, Multnomah County Library selected two books by Sherman Alexie- Ten Little Indians and The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian for their Everybody Reads community-wide reading project. The first is a collection of short stories for adults while the second is his National Book Award winning novel for young adults- and personally one of my favorite books ever. I was...

A Semi-Blogged Life: December 2012
http://a-semi-blogged-life.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, December 30, 2012. 2012 Year in Review. 2012’s theme was to Dream Big. I can’t say that I did that because everything I’ve done and accomplished were all realistic and planned out. I launched two new blogs. 8220; Library Hopping in PDX. 8221; (with Carly) made me appreciate libraries even more with how much they do for the community, and for me. In fact, because they offered free classes, they helped me with a personal milestone- becoming a citizen! What Are You Reading? I got laid off in May....

LIBRARY HOOKER
Wednesday, December 22, 2010. As part of my job, I try to get the local teens interested in reading. I've started a betting contest where they guess when I'll finish reading 150 (yes 150, it's not a typo) books from my teen section here at the library and the ten who picks the correct day I finish will get a free pizza. I started reading on December 1, 2010. Can I finish that many books before May? Who knows, cause I sure don't! As I read I'll be posting what I've read and what's coming up. Wednesday, Fe...

Look at how graceful and pretty he is! Ho hum, also studying French a lot. For this Thursday night's class, we each have to bring in three "goofy" items of clothing or accessories. So far I plan to bring my totally cool bee shoes, my aluminum foil diamond tiara (made by the kids - not sure which one though! Dean and I started o...
