Horses and information science. Describes what I am interested in vs. what I actually do for a living. Monday, February 27, 2012. I had such a nice time visiting Wizard last week! Look at how graceful and pretty he is! Ho hum, also studying French a lot. For this Thursday night's class, we each have to bring in three "goofy" items of clothing or accessories. So far I plan to bring my totally cool bee shoes, my aluminum foil diamond tiara (made by the kids - not sure which one though! Dean and I started o...

Horses and information science. Describes what I am interested in vs. what I actually do for a living. Monday, January 23, 2012. French class and other stuff. Must be MOUSE, I was just reading about the Souris River in North Dakota. Crap! Anyway, it is fun to be doing a project together again. When we first started riding, we were so into it. We had fun buying all the stuff, reading and talking about it and actually riding and going on riding vacations. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Horses and information science. Describes what I am interested in vs. what I actually do for a living. Tuesday, May 10, 2011. Preparatory to my first Lone Starr college band practice, I have been fluting around and seemingly getting nowhere but today, the nice sweet high notes came out without all the low tone creeping in. Miracle. My flute is 52 years old. I got it in the 4th grade. It has been re-padded twice over the years. Where are they now one wonders? But not for too long-. Friday, May 06, 2011.

Horses and information science. Describes what I am interested in vs. what I actually do for a living. Thursday, April 21, 2011. Ice Skating * *. I did fall and I do have a bruised elbow but I still want to go again. We skated about 45 minutes with lots of rest breaks. I got better as I watched other people - my body sort of automatically copies them. Talked to a teenager who was very nice and had asked OH if he needed any help. Wednesday, April 20, 2011. Well, I skated on a frozen pond. Subscribe to: Po...

Rats, just when I decided to go see my horse, his leaser is riding him! I guess she changed her riding days again. And why can't I burn the dvd I downloaded to a blank dvd? I will sign up anyway and see. Trying to talk Dean into taking a French class with me. I gave him two German short story books for xmas and he can read them!

Suburban Blurbs: Hunkering Down

http://suburbanblurbs.blogspot.com/2009/03/hunkering-down.html

The excitement of living on the edge (of the city). Thursday, March 26, 2009. Sounds like an April Fool's joke. C'mon, it's late March! The redbuds are blooming, the daffodils are waving in the wind.spring officially arrived last week! But the weather guys are serious. My favorite meteorologist, Mike Smith, was quoted today in the Wichita Eagle saying, "This could rival the biggest snow we've ever had in Wichita.". Being prepared to withstand the elements does not end with a well-stocked pantry. In t...

Suburban Blurbs: Life Stress Test

http://suburbanblurbs.blogspot.com/2008/08/life-stress-test.html

The excitement of living on the edge (of the city). Sunday, August 24, 2008. I haven’t posted for a few weeks because, well, life’s been a bit stressful. Family reunions out of town, vacation, visitors, and more visitors….events that have had me thinking about which life events have the potential to put people over the edge. That’s when I discovered the Life Stress Test. Cat food with anti-hairball formula actually has reverse effect – 55. Favorite suit no longer fits – 50. With their toddler – 65. Calcu...

Suburban Blurbs: Consumer Tip Alert

http://suburbanblurbs.blogspot.com/2008/09/consumer-tip-alert.html

The excitement of living on the edge (of the city). Wednesday, September 3, 2008. This is just a reminder that if something seems too good to be true….unless it’s a huge end-of-season markdown at Dillard’s and you’ve just found a Tahari suit in your size for $30, someone may be trying to scam you. Who couldn’t use an extra four grand in their checking account? For starters, I had never entered the so-called ‘Mega Lottery.’. Last, there were just enough grammatical errors to make me suspect that the good ...

Suburban Blurbs: Techno Trauma

The excitement of living on the edge (of the city). Monday, March 30, 2009. 8220;The easier technology makes our lives the more complicated they become.”. Doesn’t that sound profound? I made it up. I sat down at my keyboard much the way world class organist Diane Bish sits down at her keyboards prior to a concert – confident! Luckily for Ms. Bish (who graduated from East High here in Wichita) she has much more experience and far fewer frustrations. Not sure). Is he just a soft-spoken person? If we went t...

Suburban Blurbs: Back on the Blog

http://suburbanblurbs.blogspot.com/2009/03/back-on-blog.html

The excitement of living on the edge (of the city). Wednesday, March 25, 2009. Back on the Blog. Sometimes things happen. Things like people you care about who are hell-bent on self-destruction despite your best efforts to talk them out of it. Things like stupidity, cupidity, and duplicity, for starters. But I'm ready to put those things in a drawer, close it, and get back to having some fun. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Farewell, Pecan Chicken Sandwich from Arby’s. Back on the Blog.

The excitement of living on the edge (of the city). Monday, June 30, 2008. When It's NOT The Thought That Counts. Many times in my life, more than I would like to admit, I have found myself at an important place of decision making. This place is an intersection, where cluelessness meets good intentions. At this intersection should be a sign that reads "It's NOT The Thought That Counts.". Nonsense, I told myself. Canned goods last for at least a year. The excitement of living on the edge (of the city). Tuesday, March 31, 2009. Farewell, Pecan Chicken Sandwich from Arby’s. Sometime during the last few months you left, and I didn’t get to say goodbye. Imagine my surprise when I looked for you at the Arby's drive-thru. You weren’t in your usual spot, so I scanned the menu a second time. Then I asked the person on the other side of the intercom where you were…. Arby’s employee: (Click, feedback noise) Hi, welcome to Arby’s! May I take your order? I may be...

LIBRARY HOOKER

Wednesday, December 22, 2010. As part of my job, I try to get the local teens interested in reading. I've started a betting contest where they guess when I'll finish reading 150 (yes 150, it's not a typo) books from my teen section here at the library and the ten who picks the correct day I finish will get a free pizza. I started reading on December 1, 2010. Can I finish that many books before May? Who knows, cause I sure don't! As I read I'll be posting what I've read and what's coming up. Wednesday, Fe...
