Life at the blunt end

Life at the blunt end. Friday, January 31, 2014. Classic 60's psychedelia fresh from the West Coast of Australia this week - no video, but a gorgeous tune. And a timely band name too. Looking forward to the album! Http:/ thelammastide.bandcamp.com/. Labels: The Friday Music Club. Friday, January 24, 2014. Give up for Australia. It's Australia Day this weekend and the Winter Olympics start in a couple of weeks, so this seems appropriate. Although for some reason I can't embed it so clicky the linky. I mad...

Life at the blunt end: Saison Season

http://lifeatthebluntend.blogspot.com/2014/01/saison-season.html

Life at the blunt end. Friday, January 3, 2014. My original plan was to make an all-grain wit beer just after Xmas, but we're going through a heatwave at the minute (38 degrees C today, higher tomorrow! So I've given up trying to keep the beer temperature down and am once again embracing saison yeast. However I had the grain for a wit beer pre-ground, so I thought I'd try a Wit / Saison hybrid. The dominant factor in a Wit beer is the use of wheat, so my grain bill was. 50g Northern brewer (60 min).

Life at the blunt end. Friday, January 10, 2014. The hills are alive with the howl of canti's. Twenty plus years on technology has moved on, but you still find canti's on road-style bikes that need wider tyre clearances. I took my canti-equipped cyclocross bike out on the singletrack last night and I'm happy to report that they're just as sketchy as ever. Now all I need is my wrists to stop throbbing and the tinnitus to clear. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Give up for Australia. Im a loser baby.

Life at the blunt end: December 2013

http://lifeatthebluntend.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html

Life at the blunt end. Tuesday, December 31, 2013. Dandelion Wine Part II. Last week I harvested dandelion petals for a dandelion wine. After a week or so you've got all the flavours that you're going to get out of the solids, so strain everything into another fermenter or other container such as a demijohn - but don't fill to the top. Don't be too fussy about little bits getting through the sieve, they'll get filtered out further down the line. Equally the yeast. Sunday, December 29, 2013. Ready to go in.

Life at the blunt end: Fait Accompli

http://lifeatthebluntend.blogspot.com/2014/01/fait-accompli.html

Life at the blunt end. Friday, January 10, 2014. No real story behind this tune, just one I was listening to today.there's a 'proper' video. Out there with slightly better sound and appearances by a random sheep, but I prefer this one as I was in the crowd for this set in '92. I was a little bit closer to the stage than whoever recorded this, close enough for Toni to look me in the eyes whilst she was singing - or so it felt to my 22 yr old self. Monday, 13 February 2012. New Toys - 4 Weeks To Go. On first time assembly The Defeater looked very small, but once you get it in the right shape it is the exact size of a standard double bed. Billie the Dog gives the Skeeter Defeater 5 stars on TripAdvisor for comfort and functionality. Even though she was pretty glad to be out of there after the test. The new Canon Powershot S100. Still in familiarisation mode, and will be for some time. Here are some shots from the last few days:. Out With The Old.

Tuesday, 24 April 2012. Last Stop Singapore - April 23rd. Almost a full days travel to get from Hong Kong to Singapore. Checked into the hotel, Ibis Singapore on Bencoolen, and went for a look around. The hotel is across the road from Sim Lim Square. Around the corner from Bugis Street. And five minutes walk from Little India. There are literally hundreds of cafes and restaurants within five minutes walk as well as two MRT stations, markets and malls. Lanes of shops and eateries everywhere. Luang Prabang...

It's A Dudepa's Life. So Ma knows what we've been up to. Monday, February 4, 2013. But It Complements The Strat! How long will the Colnago last as furniture piece? My guess is until I ride it to work tomorrow. Sunday, February 3, 2013. After The Rain (And Wind). A few photos of Daisy Hill Forest after the big wet. Considering the amount of rain, including the night before I took these, the trails have held up really well. A few new stunts on the fire trails. Water in the normal places. Did an amazing job.

48 Days in Asia: Singapore Exploration Day

http://noobs-in-asia.blogspot.com/2012/04/singapore-exploration-day.html

Wednesday, 25 April 2012. No real plan for today, just grab some breakfast and jump on the MRT to somewhere. To start with, that somewhere turned out to be Orchard Road. All the brand name stores again. Sue said that Sophie would have heart palpitations if she ever happened to be on Orchard Road. Sue deciding where to go to next. Bvlgari or Canali. Or they are rare. On the way home from dinner we saw the sleeping rickshaws. 26 April 2012 at 12:49 pm. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Ha Noi City Tour.

Thursday, 12 January 2012. Jabs, Pills, Potions, the Tour d'Afrique and Fan Death. Yesterday was a big day in the prep for our trip, the first round of vaccinations. Not a big deal for me, I don't have Sue's needle phobia. And most vaccs from my previous Nepal trips are still current. A couple of oral vaccinations for me but Sue needs the lot. So expensive. Big ups to Jon. Who is in Cairo for the start of the Tour d'Afrique. On Saturday. What an adventure! And thanks to Kitty. For bringing Fan Death.

Life at the "B" Hive

Life at the "B" Hive. Sunday, April 19, 2015. You make me BRAVE. The moment when a teenager’s faithfulness causes you to truly examine your own faith is a great moment. This morning during Sunday school we were discussing what we (and by we, I mean my church’s youth group) would do for our youth-led service coming up. We were looking at the lyrics to several worship songs from Bethel and Hillsong. Ultimately, we discussed fear, and how fear doesn’t exist of. Well, that one is easy… insecurity. The fact t...
