Life on the Market

Monday, February 23, 2009. The house is sold! I am happy to report that one week after our new realtor took on our case, and just after Thanksgiving, great buyers walked in our door and fell in love. Wednesday, July 2, 2008. Hot Weather, Cool Market. If that counts for our three bad things, it must mean that three good things are on the way. With those other pesky houses out of the way, our house looks even more attractive. That's number one. (OK, I'm spinning, but allow me some latitude here! Our realto...

Life on the Market: Holidaze

http://lifeonthemarket.blogspot.com/2008/06/holidaze.html

Monday, June 30, 2008. The sun has set on June. Bring on July and new hope. Independence from a second mortgage. It has to be a day closer every day. Independence from the worries of creative home marketing techniques. Here's a thought: the neighborhood fills with folks from all over for its eclectic Fourth of July Parade, which happens, ideally enough, on the Fourth of July. Heck, it even has its own website. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Life on the Market. A Matter of Trust. No News is No News.

Life on the Market: Day by Day

http://lifeonthemarket.blogspot.com/2008/06/day-by-day.html

Tuesday, June 24, 2008. Today marks the start of week number three. Time flies when your house is on the market! Good news- lots of people want to see our house. Bad news- no one loves it yet. In fact, after a flurry of activity and a decent open house, barely a nibble of sustained interest. Doesn't anyone know old house charm anymore? Maybe another sunny day of cool breezes and optimism will bring new reason to hope before slashing the price. . . maybe. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Life on the Market: Atrocious manners

http://lifeonthemarket.blogspot.com/2008/06/atrocious-manners.html

Sunday, June 22, 2008. There are lots of adjectives people could use to describe any given situation. A shared romance could be haunted or idyllic. A new pet could be adorable or dangerous. And a new house on the market could be spectacular or "atrocious," depending on your taste and your manners. It was the first Open House day today, so from 2-4 pm all I wanted to do was spy. I wanted someone, anyone to feed me reactions instantly. I wanted to know the who, what, when, where and way. Life on the Market.

Life On The Lot

Life on the Lot. Gene and Linda never know who or what is going to pull onto The Lot. There is the occasional kook or con, but there is never a typical day in Life on the Lot. Gene always remembers that the license plate on his dad’s car read Sumday. When he died at age 51 the family found a box in his closet with $2,500 worth of quarters, money he’d stashed to go to Hawaii someday. There is no ‘someday’ says Gene. Someday is today. And cars are vessels to freedom, just like my old LTD was for me...Karen...

November 18, 2014. We just spent a month in Tennessee where, feeling its dark stone and mossy surfaces, its perpetual sunny twang under less than sunny skies, we learned to appreciate The South more and more. I didn’t take pictures of most things, since it was more real life than touristy. Here’s the everyday stuff. I know that is a massive run-on sentence. I was really excited. We celebrated a birthday in our hotel, one of our boy’s requests, with an excellent vegan cake from Khan’s Desserts. Which cove...

Life on the Margins

Life on the Margins. Bring your camera, take a photo of life on the margins. -Pulp, "Weeds II (The Origin of the Species)". Sunday, January 24, 2010. Vote Smart. Vote S-Mart. As the announcement went out yesterday about the Supreme Court's decision to lift restrictions on corporate and union spending during political campaigns. Politics is about to get a lot more exciting. It's a brave, bold new world you have ahead of you, America. I can't wait to see what happens. I'll be watching from Europe. Oh, turn...
