Wednesday, May 7, 2014. We're heading back to Virginia! Bryan's next assignment will be at the Pentagon. We'll be moving this summer, probably in June. Thursday, November 12, 2015. The countdown finally came to an end and Bryan is now thankfully, happily, wonderfully home. There was much preparation for the big day, and the weekend before Bryan returned to the U.S., Calvin and I spent many hours making signs to hang at the house and to take with us to the airport. Tuesday, January 14, 2014. Snow Fun in Missouri. We were fortunate to have a white Christmas again. This year. Living in Alabama, I was worried that our one trip north this winter would not coincide with a winter storm, but we lucked out. It started snowing when we arrived, and stayed cold enough for the snow to not melt until the day before we left. Perfect. Three times we got bundled up and went out to play. We got in some snow shoveling. Tractor riding to help clear off the driveway.

It is hard enough to figure out where to live in a new city, finding a house to rent in a safe neighborhood with a good school district for pre-school/kindergarten/grade school when you have many months of notice. Tuesday, May 5, 2015. Bryan has arrived in Afghanistan. Barchan sand dunes and the view out of his window on approach to Al Udeid, Qatar. Bryan then spent 3 days at the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar while waiting for a flight to Afghanistan. This gave him time to adjust to the time (7 hours ahead at that point), drink a few last beers (no alcohol in Afghanistan), and catch us up on his journey. Some closure and the bottom line. I've had this blog since a few months after we got married. the bottom line is. it's been an amazing almost four years. We've had some ups and downs, but mostly ups. we've been extremely blessed and i am so grateful for our life. some of the most significant events of our lives include. Getting married in march 2008. Buying a condo in june 2008. Getting pregnant in december 2010. Having a baby in september 2011. Buying a house in june 2011. Both began great careers.

Thursday, August 23, 2012. Time has flown by. i can't believe i am starting Round 3. For the past 2 weeks, i've been hard at work in Room 5. Preparing for the 2012-2013 school year. To update the world! Updating our piece of the world! Tuesday, August 11, 2015. CO - Day 4 - Hiking Adventure. First family hike - and everyone did excellent! Nona, Granny and Me on the way up - before Mae took a ride on my back. Picnic lunch by the falls, before our crew headed down - before the rain and the end of the kids' legs. Hiking treat stop and we made them smile - for a minute, but we did not clarify that they all had to smile in the same minute. Technical loophole they exploit frequently.
