Reading for a lifetime to understand how my story and other stories fit into that one Great Story. "But for them it was only the beginning of the real story. All their life in this world...had only been the cover and the title page: now at last they were beginning Chapter One of the Great Story which no one on earth has read: which goes on forever: in which every chapter is better than the one before." ~ THE LAST BATTLE by C. Lines From the Page: Books Read in 2012

http://linesfromthepage.blogspot.com/2012/12/books-read-in-2012.html

Lines From the Page. Friday, December 28, 2012. Books Read in 2012. Posting has been sparse (again) this year, but most of the titles below are linked to my semi-monthly posts where there is usually a brief summary of my thoughts. It seemed like it wasn't a very productive reading year, but combining my own reading with what I read aloud to my kids, averages out to one book a week. That's a good goal, and seemingly an attainable one, too! 1 Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy. 2 Chronicles of Avonlea.

Lines From the Page. Friday, May 17, 2013. No Name by Wilkie Collins. Hosts the Reading to Know Book Club. Each month, and there is a great line-up of children's and adult classics this year! Since I've read and enjoyed both The Woman in White. Linked to my review) and The Moonstone. By Wilkie Collins, when No Name. It's easy enough for summer (or anytime) reading, but will give you plenty to ponder if you choose! It's even available free for Kindle. Which is the format in which I read it.). What a great...

Lines From the Page: Yikes! It's Almost Spring!

http://linesfromthepage.blogspot.com/2013/03/yikes-its-almost-spring.html

Lines From the Page. Thursday, March 14, 2013. Well, so much for my good intentions of keeping up with blogging this year. It's. Now mid-March, and I haven't posted about my other January reading yet, not to mention February. Oh, dear! I already mentioned my L. M. Montgomery reading. So I won't reiterate that. My other personal reading in January consisted of rereading Laddie: A True Blue Story. I first read this book in 2010, and you can read my original thoughts and some really good quotations here.

Lines From the Page: March 2013

http://linesfromthepage.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html

Lines From the Page. Saturday, March 30, 2013. Catching Up Again: February 2013 Reading. Well, the farm memoirs I read were at least honest - no glossing over the dirt, sweat, and tears, and no idyllic vision of a simpler life as one might conclude from reading Laddie. Well, I should stop rambling and making excuses for my laziness and tell you about the books, which aside from the barn, chickens, and author's picture on the cover, are really quite different. I wasn't sure I would like. Links to this post.

Lines From the Page: Lit! A Christian Book Worth Reading!

http://linesfromthepage.blogspot.com/2013/05/lit-christian-book-worth-reading.html

Lines From the Page. Sunday, May 12, 2013. A Christian Book Worth Reading! When it comes to Christian books, I usually prefer titles that are 100 years old to something published recently, but after Carrie. A Christian Guide to Reading Books. Though I still think I should return to the dead theologians more frequently, it was also encouraging to realize that I have been reading and evaluating my fictional choices through a biblical framework. Praise God for His mercies! I also found Reinke's discussion o...
