Lisa Brown: PPD EVALUATION
http://lisaolivia.blogspot.com/2008/06/ppd-evaluation.html
Thursday, 5 June 2008. Mozilla Firefox Start Page. Throughout the second year I feel I have progressed a lot - in my approach to answering briefs, the quality of my work and my confidence. Confidence was the main thing I wanted to improve at the end of the first year and I realise now that it was hindering my progress as I thought I wasn't good enough. This year I have learnt that I work well under pressure and I have learnt that I can control how stressed I am with good time management and I have found ...

Lisa Brown - Design Practice 3: my own range of stuff
http://lisaolivia2.blogspot.com/2008/12/my-own-range-of-stuff.html
Lisa Brown - Design Practice 3. Friday, 5 December 2008. My own range of stuff. I have finished my 3rd brief - the 'i love/i hate' range of paper based gift products. my camera is shocking I wish I had hired an SLR but oh well. I think it makes the screen printed book a lot stronger to have a whole range of stuff in the same idea supporting it. i've just realised i didn't include the book in this photo. 14 December 2008 at 10:10. Lisa Brown - Design Practice 3: Evaluation
http://lisaolivia2.blogspot.com/2008/12/evaluation.html
Lisa Brown - Design Practice 3. Thursday, 18 December 2008. A weakness of my work is that I haven't investigated print enough and factors which can affect the production of design for print like stock etc. I also didn't research very much contemporary design/designers and this probably would have helped me a lot. I think some of my work looks very childish and I would like it to look more professional but still keep the 'style' my own. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Link to my first blog.

Lisa Brown: don't panic entry
http://lisaolivia.blogspot.com/2008/10/dont-panic-entry.html
Monday, 6 October 2008. Last wednesday I got feedback on my don't panic posters. I did 2 very different ones and was torn between them. On the feedback sheets 2 people had said that the black one is better and 1 person said the slot machine on was better. I thought the idea was clearer on the black one but the slot machine one was more fun to look at. I tried to improve them both from what was said which was:. On the black one - make the background lighter. On the slot machine one - Change the layout.

Lisa Brown: December 2007
http://lisaolivia.blogspot.com/2007_12_01_archive.html
Monday, 31 December 2007. Visual Language - Editorial illustration. This is a picture from Pugh, a well known cartoonist for the Times. The images accompany a newspaper article at the side with a caption underneath. This one was for a story about John Darwin the 'missing' man and how his wife went to claim his life insurance. The illustrator has put a humourous tone of voice on the article by having this image next to it. Links to this post. Sunday, 2 December 2007. To the calligraphy on the website....

Lisa Brown: September 2008
http://lisaolivia.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 10 September 2008. After doing work experience at a company where they do lots of work for exhibits for museums and attractions, I have been looking at other companies/designers who do graphic design for these types of spaces. It appeals to me because I like the use of different media that is used and the varying scales that work is produced in, from walls to information cards. These violent veg style food characters were created for an animation shown in the exhibition. Links to this post.
