With the icy cold weather setting in it was time to pull out my winter stuff, then I realized, I don't really have much winter stuff! So, I decided the cheapest way to fix that problem was to make my own hats, scarves and gloves! I have had so much fun creating new patterns and creations with cheap yarn!

We knew that if we waited until our normal Christmas decorating time the baby might be here and the chance of any decorations getting completed would be next to nothing. Of course we couldn't do that to Bennett! It's also a plus that we want to enjoy a little holiday spirit before we are getting no sleep and are frazzled with a new born and toddler.

I hope you love them just as much as I do! 3 sticks unsalted butter, softened. 1 1/2 cups light brown sugar, packed. 2 2/3 cups all-purpose flour. 1 t baking powder. 1 t baking soda. 2 t vanilla extract. 1 c chocolate chips (semisweet or bittersweet). 4 tbl unsalted butter, at room temperature. 6 tbl light brown sugar, packed. 1/2 t vanilla extract.

The Little Baker SF

The Little Baker SF. It’s official–My baking block is over! Yes, in my studio. He has a mattress all the way on the other side of the coffee table. I’ll get more into it later, but it’s actually pretty great. I like having him around! Love: The streusel is the batter mix before adding liquid. Love: Berries start on top and sink to through the batter while baking. Love: Super transportable for taking to work. Don’t love: I had to bake 20 min. longer than stated in the recipe. Simple Cakes and Pound Cakes.
