I've tried the Cheese Puff, with great success. I guess that extra step of making the pastry cream always prevented me from giving it a go. But today was the day! I used Ina Garten / Barefoot Contessa's recipe for Profiteroles and Pastry cream. They were great! More than anyone else! She liked them. a lot. March 17, 2008.

I hope you love them just as much as I do! 3 sticks unsalted butter, softened. 1 1/2 cups light brown sugar, packed. 2 2/3 cups all-purpose flour. 1 t baking powder. 1 t baking soda. 2 t vanilla extract. 1 c chocolate chips (semisweet or bittersweet). 4 tbl unsalted butter, at room temperature. 6 tbl light brown sugar, packed. 1/2 t vanilla extract.

The Little Baker SF. It’s official–My baking block is over! Yes, in my studio. He has a mattress all the way on the other side of the coffee table. I’ll get more into it later, but it’s actually pretty great. I like having him around! Love: The streusel is the batter mix before adding liquid. Love: Berries start on top and sink to through the batter while baking. Love: Super transportable for taking to work. Don’t love: I had to bake 20 min. longer than stated in the recipe.
