Little Reviews for Busy People: Dark Green by Emily Hunt (The Song Cave, 2015)

http://littlereviewsbusypeople.blogspot.com/2015/05/dark-green-by-emily-hunt-song-cave-2015.html

Little Reviews for Busy People. When poetry books fall through the cracks they sometimes land here. May 28, 2015. Dark Green by Emily Hunt (The Song Cave, 2015). And yet her poems in Dark Green. In the world that like the shrub, she is planted in a landscape not of her choosing. As a result, her poetry becomes the thing not intended, but to our amazement here it is any way. This feeling of mystery and loneliness permeates Dark Green. It's hard to breathe at the mechanic. Where the cars are midair. Paris ...

Little Reviews for Busy People: Poems Descriptive of Rural Life and Scenery (Horse Less Press, 2014)

http://littlereviewsbusypeople.blogspot.com/2014/11/poems-descriptive-of-rural-life-and.html

Little Reviews for Busy People. When poetry books fall through the cracks they sometimes land here. Nov 17, 2014. Poems Descriptive of Rural Life and Scenery (Horse Less Press, 2014). While reading Tim Earley's Poems Descriptive of Rural Life and Scenery,. Could be described similarly. When applied to Earley's poetry this label fits. I'm also inclined to apply monstrous. To Poems Descriptive of Rural Life and Scenery. Because if we keep in mind the word's Latin root monstrum -. Divine omen, portent, sign...

Little Reviews for Busy People. When poetry books fall through the cracks they sometimes land here. Jan 14, 2015. Hymn To Life by Timothy Donnelly (Poetry Magazine/Factory Hollow Press, 2014). We only see the wind because we see the tree’s reply to it. Timothy Donnelly’s long poem Hymn to Life. 8211; perhaps one of the best long poems written in recent memory – is sympathy. 8230;There were no Steller’s sea cows, the tame. Kelp-nibbling cousins to the manatee, albeit double their size,. And he flapped his...

Little Reviews for Busy People. When poetry books fall through the cracks they sometimes land here. Jun 1, 2015. Warden by Rebecca Wolff (Ugly Duckling Presse, 2014). The first poem in Rebecca Wolff's Warden,. Admit No Impediment", introduces us to a speaker of such calculated menace that I wasn't entirely sure I wanted to turn the next page:. I'm going to get up from the table. And go to the bathroom. When I get back,. If your napkin has moved. From the left side of your plate. To the right, I'll. Are a...

Little Reviews for Busy People: Houses by Nikki Wallschlaeger (Horse Less Press, 2015)

Little Reviews for Busy People. When poetry books fall through the cracks they sometimes land here. Oct 16, 2015. Houses by Nikki Wallschlaeger (Horse Less Press, 2015). The poet Dan Chiasson instructs the reader in Natural History. His second book of verse, to "Picture a house in a storybook. It is some color houses never are." In Nikki Wallschaegar’s relentlessly inspiring Houses. One finds similar homes - strangely colored, as in a storybook - and in some ways Houses. Human needling countries that nee...

Little Reviews

Tuesday, April 03, 2018. Poem for Tuesday, NCAA, Captain America, Lambs. It was a picture I had after the war. A bombed English church. I was too young. To know the word English. But I knew the picture. The ruined city still seemed noble. The cathedral with its roof blown off. Was not less godly. The church was the same. Plus rain and sky. Birds flew in and out. Of the holes God’s fist made in the walls. All our desire for love or children. Is treated like rags by the enemy. I knew so much and sang anyway.

The Little Review -- Making No Compromises With the Public Taste

Welcome to Michelle Erica Green's corner of the internet, The Little Review - making no compromises with the public taste. Several periodicals have gone by the name The Little Review. Making no compromises with the public taste" was the slogan of the groundbreaking journal by that name founded in Chicago in 1914. This site doesn't pretend to have the same ambitions, but it seemed a suitable place to archive some of my editorial endeavors:. You can read my journal entries and interests at:.

Making No Compromises With the Public Taste. Tuesday, 3rd April 2018 12:25 am. Poem for Tuesday, NCAA, Captain America, Lambs. I could not get myself excited enough to watch the Villanova game, though I am glad they beat Michigan (I've rooted for Villanova against parental wishes ever since they beat Georgetown my freshman year of college, when I was in Philadelphia and excited for them). Instead we watched Civil War. Baa Baa Black Sheep. Monday, 2nd April 2018 12:31 am. Am I a Stone and Not a Sheep.

Thursday, June 12, 2008. For the first time in years, i felt like sharing myself with someone actually. I really, truly hope this goes somewhere. It's a wonderful feeling. Tuesday, June 10, 2008. Please run, please run away with me. I'm going to have 12 hour days, but i'll only be going Mondays and Wednesdays so i have enough time to work and do other things. 930-930 on Mondays, 930-845 on Wednesdays. How exciting. :D. I think yes. :]. PS I really like Ryan. He did excellently at his show on Saturday.
