On The Tryline... the rugby blog: Loose Heads with a 50 year age difference - Joe Marler and John Goldman
http://www.onthetryline.com/2011/01/loose-heads-with-50-year-age-difference.html
Argy-Bargy and Big Hits. Sunday, 2 January 2011. Loose Heads with a 50 year age difference - Joe Marler and John Goldman. Two basic premises come in to play when the art of propping is discussed. One relates to the fact that props mature with age and the other concludes that there is often a very steep learning curve for any young prop making his way in the game, particularly at the top level. It is a remarkable story and surely he must be the oldest player regularly playing club rugby in the UK or even ...

On The Tryline... the rugby blog: A Bit of Argy Bargy and a 4 Week Ban for O'Connell
http://www.onthetryline.com/2010/12/bit-of-argy-bargy-and-4-week-ban-for.html
Argy-Bargy and Big Hits. Thursday, 16 December 2010. A Bit of Argy Bargy and a 4 Week Ban for O'Connell. Rather than the "Argy Bargy" of the days gone by, we are more likely to have "Grippy Pushy" as players avoid punching each other for the fear of a yellow card or worse when the occasional bit of tension develops. Thankfully incidents of violence in the game are now few and far between and when they do occur as in the Gavin Quinnell incident. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Videos of the Week.

On The Tryline... the rugby blog: The case of the mistaken ball and the foot rush
http://www.onthetryline.com/2013/04/the-case-of-mistaken-ball-and-foot-rush.html
Argy-Bargy and Big Hits. Wednesday, 17 April 2013. The case of the mistaken ball and the foot rush. Best described as the case of the mistaken ball, Paul O' Connell can count himself extremely lucky not to be suffering a repeat of the four week ban handed to him in December 2010. It looks like that the Muster man was just not able to suppress the natural tendency of many a Irish second row to take part in a bit of foot rushing, although normally it is just a good old hoof of the ball down the pitch.

The Rugby Ref.co.uk: Was the Ref correct?
http://therugbyref.blogspot.com/2013/09/hi-refat-weekend-in-u16-game-in-swansea.html
The Rugby Ref.co.uk. The trials and tribulations of a rugby referee. Thursday, 12 September 2013. Was the Ref correct? Many thanks. Confused-ish. By the letter of the law the referee was absolutely correct. 212 Where penalty and free kicks are taken. B) When a penalty or free kick is awarded in in-goal, the mark for the kick is in the field of play, 5 metres from the goal line, in line with the place of infringement. It's a judgement call sometimes, but the referee was correct. 1 October 2014 at 12:19.
