Voyages & Words: 10 Days to Go
http://voyagesandwords.blogspot.com/2009/12/10-days-to-go.html
Wednesday, 16 December 2009. 10 Days to Go. Ten more days and then I will be in Arkansas. Granted, at first, I wasn’t too excited about it, because in USA, I prefer East Coast. Having lived in America, it’s also not on the top of my places to visit list. But since my parents have moved to Arkansas, I had to go. But most importantly, at least I should be able to snow during Christmas period, since here in Bristol that’s a rarity. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). VISIT MY WRITING BLOG HERE. 10 Days to Go.

Voyages & Words: Hunger for Travel
http://voyagesandwords.blogspot.com/2010/03/hunger-for-travel.html
Sunday, 14 March 2010. 8220;Travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living.” - Miriam Beard. It is immensely elating feeling to stand on the streets of Pompeii and imagine toga clad people who would have lived there once upon a time, or to envision the Statue of Liberty being transformed across the ocean from France to America. Knowing something exists is nearly not as good as seeing that it does. 7 April 2010 at 12:07. I have Been There.

Voyages & Words: Security Gone Bonkers?
http://voyagesandwords.blogspot.com/2010/01/security-gone-bonkers.html
Monday, 4 January 2010. We went over to USA just couple of days after Christmas, while the attempted terrorist attack was still fresh in everyone's mind. Higher security was expected. Fair enough. At Heathrow, the only difference passengers felt was that everyone was being checked and handbags opened before sitting down by the gate. No big deal. Or you might have done your research and have a fair idea of where you might be after a certain period of time. Anyone else had flight paths blocked? Follow me o...

The Muse in the Mirror: So I win. Now what?
http://alissacarleton.blogspot.com/2009/11/so-i-win-now-what.html
The Muse in the Mirror. Reflections on writing, reading, and whatever else is on my mind. Monday, November 30, 2009. So I win. Now what? The story that I originally set out to write ended at 20,000 words, and at 40,000 words I was running out of ideas, but NaNo pushed me to keep asking, “Okay, what happens next? In other news, my self-imposed ban on reading has been lifted, which means I can continue my slog through "The Lost Symbol" by Dan Brown. How unfortunate. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Voyages & Words: August 2010
http://voyagesandwords.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Friday, 27 August 2010. Holiday planning is perhaps as much of an excitement to me as the actual trip. First, there is the research to book something. That is usually dependent on the budget - then it's all booked, and there is the anticipation and RESEARCH. I find it best to go prepared. Excursions, things to do around there, information about the area, the hotel, packing list - oh it's absolutely lots to do. And I am totally looking forward to it. :-). Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The Muse in the Mirror: How To Write "Da Vinci Code" Part 4
http://alissacarleton.blogspot.com/2009/12/how-to-be-dan-brown.html
The Muse in the Mirror. Reflections on writing, reading, and whatever else is on my mind. Thursday, December 10, 2009. How To Write "Da Vinci Code" Part 4. There's been a lot of random chatter lately on how to be "the next Dan Brown." Particularly enjoyable is the "Dan Brown Sequal Generator" from Slate. Which is hilariously, and unfortunately, accurate. I started reading " The Lost Symbol. When the book came out three months ago. I loved " The Da Vinci Code. Create a victim. They should be very powe...

The Muse in the Mirror: Goals for 2010
http://alissacarleton.blogspot.com/2009/12/goals-for-2010.html
The Muse in the Mirror. Reflections on writing, reading, and whatever else is on my mind. Thursday, December 31, 2009. Getting together a few writing/reading goals for 2010 has definitely been on my mind for the last two days, and I feel like it's sort of a contract with myself. If I put it in writing, and post it in public, I'm somehow more accountable. So here are my goals, and hopefully by next December, I can report back favorably! Read more books - Lost Wanderer threw down the gauntlet. I resolve to...
