Fooling Fish: Rod Testing
http://fishfooler.blogspot.com/2014/12/rod-testing.html
Sunday, 28 December 2014. Got out today to try out the rod Ive been modifying and mentioned previously. The rod is a savagear butch light 50-80g 8'6" and i wanted a longer handle as i have long arms and wanted the butt to rest along side my ribs and not the butt end digging into them. Fooling Fish: A new Year begins
http://fishfooler.blogspot.com/2015/01/a-new-year-begins.html
Tuesday, 6 January 2015. A new Year begins. As much as i love Christmas I'm always glad when its out the way and I'm back into a routine. Family stuff and kids being off school make it difficult for me to get out and to be honest if theres any time to give fishing a little rest and spend more time with the family its at Christmas. The conditions were not great with only 6" visibility but this was a fresh year and i hadn't been out much so i wasn't going to let my confidence wain over clarity. It was ...

Fooling Fish: April 2014
http://fishfooler.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Monday, 28 April 2014. I dropped on a spot the other day to have a look how things were getting on this time of year, while i was there i saw some monster bleak cruising about and sipping tiny flies off the surface. Its things like this that get me going and i love a change of tactic and approach when ever i see an opportunity. So today after work i went to have another look and took the #3 fly rod in search of some Lunker Bleak! Again things dried up so i thought I'd have a go for perch with a weighted ...

lure mad: On the perch again
http://www.luremad.com/2014/12/on-perch-again.html
Saturday, December 13, 2014. On the perch again. As cold weather settled in and the weeds in the canal dropped to the bottom, a new perch season started. And oh, how it started. Amazing days on the canal, hitting perch after perch on small softbaits rigged on a jighead or drop-shot. I am not saying that I got tons of huge fish everyday and everywhere, I really had to work for it. But the rewards were there, and they made the cold, the rain and the wind much more bearable. After half an hour of messing ar...

Fooling Fish: No Fishing
http://fishfooler.blogspot.com/2014/12/no-fishing.html
Wednesday, 17 December 2014. Well my fishing has really ground to a halt, i was quite hungry to get out this week but my Mrs car broke down so until we get that sorted we are down to one car which she needs for work. I'm hoping i get it back in the next day or so as I'm desperate to get out before Christmas. In the meantime I've been doing a few more shads and have done some really nice colours, the pearl effects don't show on the photos but they look really nice. 23 December 2014 at 13:04. Fooling Fish: Obsessed
http://fishfooler.blogspot.com/2015/02/obsessed.html
Wednesday, 25 February 2015. There are people out there that really want to know about that chuff? Anyway as i was saying that has always put me off facebook, so i took the plunge and joined but didn't join as my actual name, that will prevent people in my past hassling me and telling me what they've just eaten. Its purely for fishing interest so i only Friend people that share the interest. Or click the link if it works. So what have I been up to? 14 July 2015 at 21:33. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Fooling Fish: March 2014
http://fishfooler.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, 27 March 2014. So for the purpose i built myself a new St Croix 5' 6" rod designed just for the job, you can read more about the rod build here http:/ fishfooler.blogspot.co.uk/search/label/Rod%20Building. This beauty was a nice way to test out the rod and it coped with it no problem, I wasn't expecting anything of a decent size so early on but it was more than welcome, even had the start of a small kype jaw which is i think the first Ive had that Ive noticed. Not a bagging up session at all bu...

Fooling Fish: November 2014
http://fishfooler.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, 30 November 2014. When ya can't buy what you want. Make it ya self! Theres been a few things ive wanted recently that ive come stuck with getting hold of, either because its too expensive shipping in or because we just dont have anything here that i like. This lead me into making my own injection molds, i'd watched a video by Paul Adams from http:/ www.homeluremaking.blogspot.co.uk/. Who had made his own worm mold for injecting so i set about doing something similiar to make tiny little paddle ta...

Fooling Fish: August 2014
http://fishfooler.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Saturday, 30 August 2014. Last week i was away for a short holiday on the north east coast, it was planned for awhile and I'd planned a spot of fishing while i was over near the coast. I arranged to meet up with Paul who was going to drive over in the morning. I called it a day and headed back for a fry up while i waited for Paul. We didn't give the pools too long before moving to the deeper water, it was quite busy with fishermen so we had to find our spot, this spot didn't produce anything but it was q...
