April 1961 persönlich die Eröffnungsrede gehalten. Abends, nach des Tages Wärme, ziehen die Touristenschwärme an der Wüste Rand. Dort dann lauschen sie auf Stühlen jenen Ton- und Zauberspielen, die als "Son und Licht" bekannt. "Was wird kommen? Was sind König Cheops' Klagen? Was hat Chefren einst erlebt? Saturday, 10 September 2011. Cairo, 13.12.1964. I have three goals in Africa. I want to climb the Cheops Pyramid, stand on top of Mount Kilimanjaro and spit in the ocean at Cape of Good Hope. Today I plan to reach my first goal. Only a short bus trip from Midan al Tahrir in the City separates me from it. Pancake bar at Midan al Tahrir. Coffee bar for poor tramps.
