Gecika Knits: The snow is flying
http://gecikaknits.blogspot.com/2015/01/the-snow-is-flying.html
Forays into Fiber Arts, Jewellery, and the odd recipe. Thursday, January 1, 2015. The snow is flying. Holy cow, time does fly doesn't it? It goes even faster when you have a deadline for christmas gifts. Here's one of them. I had to knit armwarmers for a lovely girl this holiday. I just HAD to take advantage of the photo op ;). These were my own pattern, a basic armwarmer with thumb gusset and a quilted lattice stitch back panel. Love! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Hanging...

Gecika Knits: A Suprise for a Baby
http://gecikaknits.blogspot.com/2014/09/a-suprise-for-baby.html
Forays into Fiber Arts, Jewellery, and the odd recipe. Thursday, September 25, 2014. A Suprise for a Baby. I guess it isn't that much of a surprise really. My coworker knows I'm knitting it for her. We still aren't convinced it's supposed to become a sweater. Even after casting off. I'm still not convinced. Yes, I did run out of yarn at the end. But I did a bit of strategic colourwork, and now it's not terribly obvious that I ran out of yarn. To a non-knitter, anyways. Oh my god, it's a baby sweater!

Gecika Knits: Reduce, reuse, recycle.
http://gecikaknits.blogspot.com/2015/01/reduce-reuse-recycle.html
Forays into Fiber Arts, Jewellery, and the odd recipe. Saturday, January 17, 2015. Reduce, reuse, recycle. I'm kind of on a 'look what I can do with old crap! Kick at the moment. My current weapon of choice? Bedsheets. Turns out that if you're careful, you can rip them into continuous lengths that can be used as yarn! I decided to channel my grandmother and make myself a rug for my cabin. At this point, I'm three bedsheets in. It's actually a nice little area rug now! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Appleman Pens: October 2014
http://appleman-pens.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 20, 2014. Installing a converter into a Parker 51. I got this Parker 51 in a while ago that had the squeeze unit all mucked up. It looked like someone had taken a pair of pliers to it to squeeze it. The feeder tube was almost all gone as well. Howard at Bexley had done a new unit for these so you could use a cart. or a converter. I set this one up to use a converter that is sealed into the pen. All set to go. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Appleman Pens: September 2013
http://appleman-pens.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Saturday, September 21, 2013. Parker Ad pen mod. I got this pen the other say and decided that I wanted it to be a fountain pen not a roller ball so this is what I came up with. I have a lot of Esterbrook nibs so that is what I used in it. I also had to make up a new section as well to take the screw in nibs. Sunday, September 15, 2013. I have a real love hate relationship with Indian made pens. Now the down side is that most of them are ED fillers and they always seem to throw up at the worst of times.

Appleman Pens: Really Nice Blue Esty Nib Holder
http://appleman-pens.blogspot.com/2014/08/really-nice-blue-esty-nib-holder.html
Monday, August 18, 2014. Really Nice Blue Esty Nib Holder. I found this rod of blue yesterday when I was cleaning up as well as a stash of Esty nibs. I was trying out some filling systems and ended up making this little baby. The nib is a 1555 and it has a really nice ink flow to it. I set it up as a squeeze filler and it holds a lot of ink. Really good balance as well as the slip cap make for a really nice pen. Custom pen. Appleman. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). It's been a while.

Appleman Pens: November 2013
http://appleman-pens.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 26, 2013. This was a tool that my wife wanted me to make up for her to hold her heat gun and small hot iron for her wax work. I am now going to build one to hold my Dremel on my work bench. We looked at buying one of these for her but looking at them they seemed to be really flimsy for what you were getting. So a few dollars at the hardware store a bit of welding and here is what I ended up with. PS I build better pens than I do welding. A good solid tool. Labels: dremel tool holder.
