Mad About Margaret’s. Mental Health Advocacy Award. Women aged 18 – 65 with serious and persistent mental illness, who identify themselves as experiencing a “crisis” and are able to direct their care can receive these support services at Margaret’s:. Advocacy, Information and referral. Family members of women who require relief from these care giving services:. 24-hour supervision and monitoring by trained staff. Care within a female environment that is safe and welcoming. Cooking and laundry facilities.

Mad About Margaret’s. Mental Health Advocacy Award. Our clients have a wide variety of psychiatric diagnoses and require intensive support to live in the community as a result. Living in an all female environment helps residents cope with issues regarding safety and cope with past abuse. We provide a warm atmosphere based on respect, where women can relax, feel secure and build their self-esteem. We Love What We Do. Our bright and enthusiastic clients make every day at work a promising one.

Mad About Margaret’s. Mental Health Advocacy Award. Women are more likely than men to experience a mental disorder in their lifetime. 36%. Of Ontario women experience mental illness, 10-15%. Of women will have a major depressive disorder at least once in their lifetime and 10%. Of women experience depression during pregnancy. Characterized by manic and psychotic symptoms - usually within 48 - 72. Hours after delivery. Women with bipolar disorder have a 50%. Of the general population has BPD while 75%.

Feeding Others of Dartmouth (F.O.O.D.) Society is a registered charity whose mission is to provide a free nutritious hot meal to adults in need within the HRM. Lunch is served 7-days a week from 12:00 to 12:30. Supper is served Monday to Wednesday from 4:30 to 5:00.
