Purses and Handbags: February 2008
http://pursecleaning.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 1, 2008. The challenge with this purse was to remove the stain, kill the mold and rejuvenate the color while keeping the leather soft. Some leather is dyed and others are painted. Dyed leather has a soft feel to it where painted has a stiffer feel. In restoring color to dyed leather it is vitally important to use the proper dye and apply in numerous light applications to retain the original soft feel. All parties were pleased with the reults. Wednesday, April 18, 2007. Prada Disaster in Toronto. Be careful entrusting your fine handbags to a "trusted" dry cleaner or shoe repair store. Handbag cleaning is a different skill set entirely. The following documents one of our most recent efforts to salvage a purse ruined by an inexperienced dry cleaner. 3/4/2007 CUSTOMER NEEDS HELP. I am prepared to send the bag via courier if you think it is worth it, given the $ value of the bag was around $700US. 3/5/2007 NOW SHE IS PLAYING MY HEART STRINGS.

Friday, June 22, 2007. Mildew on Leather Bags. Never leave a leather bag damp for an extended length of time. The corner of this Yves Saint Laurent handbag was left damp and both mildew and staining resulted. Both the staining and mildew could have been prevented if the owner would have removed the crome bar and let the corner dry. Links to this post. Labels: Yves Saint Laurent. Purses and Handbags: July 2007
http://pursecleaning.blogspot.com/2007_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 28, 2007. This Prada purse arrived to us in near fatal condition. The purse had been washed in a washing machine removing much of the dye and creating extreme color contrast in both the fabric and leather. To make things worse, an attempt was made to restore the color using a magic marker. Note the marker coloring in the top right photo between the handles. Clicking on the photograph will enable a clooser view. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Pulito Purse Cleaning Website.
