xin chao, scrubbers!

Xin chao, scrubbers! Sunday, 1 March 2009. Three marvellous weeks in Vietnam are now over and I'm back in London. Tomorrow is March 1 and I haven't been in the office since February 5. I'm sorry, but would you please refrain from building any more hotels, because it is just so much more authentic to see you begging in the streets than getting a job'. Saturday, 28 February 2009. I got up at 9.30am on Friday - quite an achievement on this holiday, I can assure you. We landed at around 6am GMT, back where i...

xin chao, scrubbers!: on the buses...

http://www.mattvietnam.blogspot.com/2009/02/on-buses.html

Xin chao, scrubbers! Sunday, 22 February 2009. I fucking hate buses. They make me feel unwell, they are unreliable, boring, claustrophobic, smelly and just generally fucking shite. When I come to power, I shall abolish them. After a couple of hours, we stopped at a roadside restaurant/shop of sorts. I felt queasy as I got off the bus, and then felt even worse as we were greeted by this establishment choosing to belt out at full volume what can only be described as a load of shit Euro pop. I didn'...Anywa...

xin chao, scrubbers!: mui ne beach

http://www.mattvietnam.blogspot.com/2009/02/mui-ne-beach.html

Xin chao, scrubbers! Monday, 23 February 2009. If only every Monday could be like this. I have spent the day just laying by the gorgeous Mui Ne beach, reading and getting a tad sun burnt. I can never normally summon the attention span to be by a beach for too long, if that makes sense. I can walk along one and drink by one, but just sitting still and doing nothing has never really been my bag. Today was the exception. That had been imported. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Thoughts on mui ne.

xin chao, scrubbers!: beside the seaside, beside the sea...

http://www.mattvietnam.blogspot.com/2009/02/beside-seaside-beside-sea.html

Xin chao, scrubbers! Saturday, 21 February 2009. Beside the seaside, beside the sea. Beer and rang them up to reserve a room. They were fully booked. In no mood to trawl the web for alternatives, I decided to just chill out in Nha Trang a bit longer. There is nothing to do here apart from sit in the sun and chug beer. I know there is probably more to life than that, but it is good fun. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Thoughts on mui ne. Beside the seaside, beside the sea. Danang to nha trang.

xin chao, scrubbers!: thoughts on mui ne

http://www.mattvietnam.blogspot.com/2009/02/thoughts-on-mui-ne.html

Xin chao, scrubbers! Thursday, 26 February 2009. Thoughts on mui ne. Mui Ne has been a great place to bring this trip to an end. The beach is lovely, the sand dunes are incredible and this part of Vietnam gets more sunshine than any other. My hote. I have never been on holiday anywhere in the world where there are so few British holidaymakers. I came across one group at the yellow sand dunes on Tuesday, but that's it. Everyone else is overwhelmingly German. There are lots. Thoughts on mui ne.

(Public) School Days | Notes for a Confused Life

https://notesforaconfusedlife.wordpress.com/2012/04/04/public-school-days

Notes for a Confused Life. It's some Notes… on a Life… that's Confused… I think. April 4, 2012. A few months ago, and in the absence of any other employment prospects, I foolishly agreed to spend three weeks working at a residential school near Hayward’ Heath. After Summer school last year I’d vowed to steer clear of residential schools, owing to the poor organisation and inedible food at my last place. It’s fair to say that this place is infinitely worse. Yes, I haven’t mentioned her before now have I?

Valentine’s Day Massacre | Notes for a Confused Life

https://notesforaconfusedlife.wordpress.com/2012/02/14/valentines-day-massacre

Notes for a Confused Life. It's some Notes… on a Life… that's Confused… I think. February 14, 2012. So far, this year has not been kind to me. Right now I’m dealing with a deeply unpleasant chesty cold, but that’s just the tip of my 2012 woes. It’s probably only natural that I’ve started to reassess things. Why was I not getting on the course? How, I wondered, would I get on this course? Still, though dumb luck, determination and, possibly, a need for the Media Stuies department to collect a tuition fee ...

Haters Gonna Hate. | Notes for a Confused Life

https://notesforaconfusedlife.wordpress.com/2013/02/11/haters-gonna-hate

Notes for a Confused Life. It's some Notes… on a Life… that's Confused… I think. February 11, 2013. So yes, the message is FUCK YOU. All that said, the last few months have been a little difficult for me. November was generally quite a down month for me with the only highlight being the delivery of a new phone to replace the one which’s memory was so deficient that it could barely call itself a Smartphone. This entry was posted on Monday, February 11th, 2013 at 12:00 am and tagged with depression. Thanks...

Notes for a Confused Life. It's some Notes… on a Life… that's Confused… I think. November 12, 2012. Special “200th post” post. Fuck So yes, it’s been months. What’s happened? Well, I left the school at the end of the Easter and then went back to it in the summer whereupon I was subjected to some even more hilarious mismanagement and general fuckwittery. Right, that’s it for the recap. Tune in again, same bat time*, same bat channel. Which could I write the quickest? But above all, which would be most lik...

Notes for a Confused Life. It's some Notes… on a Life… that's Confused… I think. I'm a misanthropic malcontent with plenty of time on my hands. Sometimes I write, sometimes I don't. If you haven't seen me for a while, keep checking. I'll probably re-appear at some point. June 25, 2016. To Vote Brexit…. To vote Brexit, you didn’t have to be racist, but some of them were. To vote Brexit, you didn’t have to hate everything that isn’t British, but some of them did. In the cold light of day, when the reality ...

Re-evaluation | Notes for a Confused Life

https://notesforaconfusedlife.wordpress.com/2012/03/01/re-evaluation

Notes for a Confused Life. It's some Notes… on a Life… that's Confused… I think. March 1, 2012. I think I‘m smart enough to bluff my way through teaching, but I don’t have the requisite interest to be particularly great at it. Sure, I can be personable, I can keep a class entertained, but am I really doing it by the book? Do I really understand, or care about, the intricate techniques of teaching? Who am I trying to prove it to? Pfffhh. Ridiculous really. I'm a misanthropic malcontent with plenty of time...

No Money, Mo Problems | Notes for a Confused Life

Notes for a Confused Life. It's some Notes… on a Life… that's Confused… I think. February 17, 2012. No Money, Mo Problems. The day really didn’t start out well. I was still sick and my illness had prevented me from getting more than two or three hours sleep. Actually, a phone call to the house early in the morning had woken me up and my cough ensured that I wouldn’t get back to sleep again. My terrible mattress would make sure that, even if I could sleep, I’d be uncomfortable. In the meantime, I figured ...

A Better Tomorrow? | Notes for a Confused Life

Notes for a Confused Life. It's some Notes… on a Life… that's Confused… I think. January 20, 2012. I feel less numb to the world around me and that’s both a good and a bad thing. My eyes ate fully open again, but that means that everything around me has once more become illuminated and that’s not really a great thing. More and more I feel like I need to get away from here. Permanently? What should I be doing and feeling right now? How does the average person of my age behave? What do they think? I feel l...

January 24, 2015. Beyond any reasonable doubt, the Israeli Mossad executed the 9/11 false flag operation. The Israeli responsability in the Middle East aggressions is a fact that was investigated by the movement for the truth on 9/11 right after the attacks. In the past, Laurent had come to the final result that 9-11 was an implication of the state of Israel in terrorist attacks. And it is not normal. In fact, 9/11 attacks were created to blackmail the US into a Battle against Terror. It should b...The 9...

Matthew's Somewhat Interesting Life. Here to kick ass and chew bubblegum. Wednesday, April 25. Hermestra is my Tiger Daemon. Posted by Mattvideo at 3:26 PM. Links to this post. Saturday, March 17. The fun could have stopped there, of course. But then I got hold of Spinal Tap. And then, The Princess Bride happened. This same loose group, Crystal, Guest, Rob Reiner, Bruno Kirby and others also defined some other genres along the way. Is there a better mid-life movie than City Slickers? Links to this post.
