Unabashedly PC: November 2005

Seeing life from a different angle. I'm Sorry - Blog Against Racism, part IV. I've been reading about Peak Oil. Lately and I was considering the incredibly fast growth of technology over the past century completely due to this cheap, seemingly unlimited resource (which is quickly running out). At one time, the Energy Rate on Energy Invested. I think the roads we drive on, the buildings that remain, some of the infrastructure, and certainly the technology we enjoy now was made possible because of the terr...

Seeing life from a different angle. I Swear, I'm gonna wear a strap-on to work tomorrow. After it had happened several times in a row this morning, however, I stood up and pointedly walked away. In retrospect, not only was the point missed, I lost some credibility by doing so. Clearly I wasn't interested in the product's future development. And here's the rub: even though I recognise the sexism and my male co-worker has even started to notice the inequity. Posted by elissaf at 12:59 pm. Links to this post.

Seeing life from a different angle. Pirates Cause Global Warming". According to Pasta-farians (see Wikipedia on Flying Spaghetti Monsterism. Global warming and other natural disasters are a direct consequence of the decline in the numbers of pirates since the 1800s. Similarly, The Sydney Morning Herald printed an article today. These numbers leads me to conclude that any woman who got pregnant. Perhaps well-adjusted women practice birth control more successfully. Perhaps women in supportive nurturing...

Unabashedly PC: A Rant
http://unabashedlypc.blogspot.com/2006/01/rant.html
Seeing life from a different angle. I really don't know what to say about Ariel Sharon and his declining health. I don't have much of anything to add to the already extensive discussion on Israeli / Palestine. Personally, I support having two free democratic societies, side by side, supporting one another, helping each other, old emnities buried. Nothing else makes sense. And I'm frustrated that it seems such a lo-o-o-ng way off. My main concern in this world is: how do we heal it? Links to this post:.

Seeing life from a different angle. Life is fragile. I am moved by any reminder that the "affairs of men" will eventually wash away and all that will be left is what there was before us ( caveat. Unless we destroy it all first. I hang on to the vaguely comforting notion that we are the fragile ones and Gaia will eventually generate new life everywhere we've left a niche.). Our sense of self-importance is always over-estimated (although that's to be expected, since we're the ones doing the reporting).
