It wasn't too long ago that most people worked at or near home- many people farmed or operated a business out of their home- they were a blacksmith or a furniture maker perhaps. Kids got to see what their parents did- not just one day a year on "take your daughter to work day". But as we find ourselves with less and less energy, how will the world of work change? Will growing food for the family...

http://wwo-mitchtrix.livejournal.com/2988.html
Hat · is · a · world · without · oil · like? Moving to Wales - Join me? I've been contemplating this thought for a few days now and I've decided to go for it, conditions in MK aren't getting better (They're infact getting alot worse but the less I think about it the easier it is). I'm going to Wales, Carreglefn on Anglesey. My nan used to live there until she passed away and now my Grandad owns the house but he's in Tenerife so I'm sure they won't mind me using it :). Also this bungalow has 3 Bedrooms, 2...

http://wwo-mitchtrix.livejournal.com/2594.html
Hat · is · a · world · without · oil · like? So as you know from my last blog I've been without the internet for a few weeks. I thought I'd let you all know what provisions I've taken in preparing for this crisis. Thinking about it now though, Am I just one of those do-little's that Gala Teah. Spoke about a few weeks ago,. I use a bike sure, but I've never drove. I watch my electricity consumption, I've stockpiled what food I can, but is this all I can do? I need a drink, had best make it a treble! Looks...

Fragile - In the gutter. Laquo; previous entry. Next entry ». May 14th, 2007 09:33 am. Funny how none of the banks have closed down. Tom calls every night and talks to Frank before he goes out on "guard duty" and I think it's helping. He's got a sense of purpose now, with his patrols. I just hope he's not stretching himself too thin. So here's your mission. Find the most fragile thing in your community. Is there a nursing home that is running out of supplies? Can they get the medicine they need? Don't th...

Ironmonkey's World Without Oil blog. Thursday, May 31, 2007. I learned from talking to people about Peak Oil that the whole Y2K. Looking back at World Without Oil, I think it is the most amazing, best multiplayer "game" I have experienced. Usually gaming takes time away from accomplishing useful things in real life, but WWO taught me a lot, lowered my electric bill, and got me focused on doing things that matter to me. The End Of Oil. MonkeyWithoutOil: Bike Friday Tikit
http://monkeywithoutoil.blogspot.com/2007/05/bike-friday-tikit.html
Ironmonkey's World Without Oil blog. Monday, May 28, 2007. I recently ordered a Bike Friday. This is a folding bicycle that can be folded in about 5 seconds - watch the video! Folded, it is small enough to fit in the back seat of a car. You can also take it with you on a bus or train, so it is great for "mixed-mode" trips. Mine has not arrived yet, but I'm really looking forward to it. May 28, 2007 at 12:00 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Simple, Lazy Gardening.
