The Silk Farm | Not Going Gently
https://notgoinggently.wordpress.com/2012/02/16/the-silk-farm
Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Other blogs and Twitter. Not too long ago Elysse. And I visited the Silk Farm. Just outside of Siem Reap. Students live and study here for one year, and upon completion return to their home towns (or to wherever they want, I suppose) to work and train others. They only train in one small part of the very lengthy process, which shall be outlined below. The worms are then left to make cocoons, which is where the silk comes from. In nature it looks more like this.

Bathroom Progress - Welcome back! I came home from a visit to Mum and Dad last night to find that A had been putting in the hard yards and we now have a functioning toilet! There is still plenty to do to finish off the 'room' but for the moment we have to wait for the new windows to arrive. Here's how it is currently looking. In which we discover the problem and start again. So, about those tiles not drying. We've lost a bit of time, the cost of a bucket of ahesive. Annoying, yes, but not the end of ...

Ie Love: Wrapping it up...
http://ielove.blogspot.com/2013/01/wrapping-it-up.html
When I first started reading blogs I used to be a bit uncomfortable about bloggers who just disappeared. Normal post one day, gone the next. There was, for me, always an element of concern and hope that no dreadful fate had befallen them. This being said, I'm acutely aware that I'm at risk of just dropping out of the blogosphere in the same way! So here's were I am at. J is now 7 months old! Where did the time go? I guess that I just wanted to say I'm finishing up here but all is well, wonderful in fact&...

No, no baby yet. But on the last weekend I was given a lovely suprise baby shower organised by two good friends and my very sneaky husband. With all the reno disruption and general chaos around here at the moment I wasn't going to bother with anything so I was totally suprised and very touched by the effort they went to. According to A, I was 'beetroot' suprised - I blush easily! Phew The weather was kind. It stayed sunny even if it was beanie and glove weather in the mornings. I think A is a bit disappo...

Bathroom progress - vanity. Another misleading post title as nothing has really been done yet apart from a lot of shopping. We have the toilet supplies in the shed ready to go and just have to organise the asbestos remover to come in on Thursday to do his thing. We've also been checking out vanities all over the place. A has a thing for the 'washblade' set up. I don't really like them. Luckily for me (unluckily for A) they are well out of the budget so it's a non-issue. Goodies from the grandparents.

That's all really. Have a safe and happy Christmas and New Year! See you in 2012! Get all the Animations you need for your web pages and emails at Free Animations. And it's all FREE! Last night I cooked dinner! Not a super thrilling statement in itself, but given poor A has been lumped with most of the cooking for the last, oh, 3 months, it was pretty exciting that I actually felt like doing it! So, Japanese it was. And it was pretty awesome if I do say so myself! After about 6 friday nights of A being o...

Ie Love: The promised bathroom round up
http://ielove.blogspot.com/2013/03/the-promised-bathroom-round-up.html
The promised bathroom round up. I had the bathroom in a respectable state today and remembered to get out the camera for some photos. The laundry, well, this is an exercise in reality blogging not picture perfect blogging! We love our new bathroom, it took about 5 months from start to complete finish and was out of action for about 4 of those 5 months. The cost ended up being around $22000, a little more than we expected but still much less than quoted ($40,000 )! Bathroom - the reality! In The Night Sky.
