Long time absent | Not Going Gently
https://notgoinggently.wordpress.com/2012/03/04/long-time-absent
Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Other blogs and Twitter. To my cherished readers,. I apologise for being absent for some time. Last week I started a Juris Doctor program (a post graduate law degree, no I won’t be able to call myself doctor) at RMIT. I’m doing the course through Open Universities Australia, so it is all by distance. Except for the first subject, which is done over three intensive weekends at RMIT in Melbourne. I booked another flight for the next day and made it to Melbourne wi...
What I’m Reading… | Not Going Gently
https://notgoinggently.wordpress.com/2012/02/14/what-im-reading-4
Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Other blogs and Twitter. What I’m Reading…. It’s a short and late collection this week as I’ve been busy and have friends visiting! For those of you who, like me, love journals and empty books but are never sure how to fill them, maybe try a Lifebook. An amusing draft speech in The Monthly. For the Prime Minister should President Obama visit Australia again. You must speak not only of great devastation. A website I’ve just discovered) is just as concerned. Kenya...

Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Other blogs and Twitter. The week in photos…. This Week in Photos. I’ve been travelling a bit this week, first to Siem Reap, then to Kep. Here are the photos of my week. Trivia night last week. I think we came 6th or 7th. Silk worms at the silk farm just out of Siem Reap. A full post will be coming of the silk farm later. Works at Anjali House. My local dumpling joint. Mmmm… dumplings. The Sailing Club in Kep. Read all about the kitten here. It started pouring r...
The Silk Farm | Not Going Gently
https://notgoinggently.wordpress.com/2012/02/16/the-silk-farm
Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Other blogs and Twitter. Not too long ago Elysse. And I visited the Silk Farm. Just outside of Siem Reap. Students live and study here for one year, and upon completion return to their home towns (or to wherever they want, I suppose) to work and train others. They only train in one small part of the very lengthy process, which shall be outlined below. The worms are then left to make cocoons, which is where the silk comes from. In nature it looks more like this.
Kitten update | Not Going Gently
https://notgoinggently.wordpress.com/2012/02/20/kitten-update
Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Other blogs and Twitter. For those of you following the story of the kitten, he is still alive and well. The staff at The Vine named him Samnang, which is Khmer for lucky, and it seems he has lived up to his name. I did not make it to the village earlier in the week as planned, so I did not get to see him. Next post →. When it comes to stopping the people smugglers, there will be no change in policy no matter who wins the election, says 3 months ago. You are com...

Tales of the Scarlet Harlot...: Friday already??!!
http://talesofthescarletharlot.blogspot.com/2010/10/friday-already.html
Tales of the Scarlet Harlot. Friday, October 22, 2010. I have entirely lost track of this week! I spent much of this week sitting in on a court case to support of a friend of mine. 3 days of sitting through evidence seems, at the time, to drag it heels but all of a sudden I have reached the end of the week and realised that there are a million things I coulda, shoulda, and woulda done. Other highlights of this week have been:. Blisters on my feet from my new shoes. Oh wow, you certainly earned your vodka!

Tales of the Scarlet Harlot...: October 2010
http://talesofthescarletharlot.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Tales of the Scarlet Harlot. Wednesday, October 27, 2010. The Sols. Part 1. After having a fabulously dirty weekend in a BIG city on the BIG island, the huMAN and I jumped a plane on Monday to fly to The Solomon Islands. A group of islands north of the rock I call home. The Sols are a group of 990 islands in the South Pacific, east of Papua New Guinea. They are also home to the largest lagoon in the world, or so I'm told. Da Ferry (With Gizo in the background). A Transparent Appeal For Your Envy | Good Evening Vietnam
https://goodeveningvietnam.wordpress.com/2011/11/06/a-transparent-appeal-for-your-envy
Inconsequential ramblings from an Australian volunteer in Hà Nội. A Transparent Appeal For Your Envy. In my very first post to Good Evening Vietnam I solemnly promised not to turn this place into “a journal of my thoughts, an ill-informed political diatribe, or a poor excuse for a travel review”. In retrospect, I seem to have failed miserably in keeping this vow (although I’ll protest in my defence that my ill-informed diatribes were rarely, if ever, political). Five (Somewhat Controversial) Tips for Living in Hanoi | Good Evening Vietnam
https://goodeveningvietnam.wordpress.com/2011/12/21/five-somewhat-controversial-tips-for-living-in-hanoi
Inconsequential ramblings from an Australian volunteer in Hà Nội. Five (Somewhat Controversial) Tips for Living in Hanoi. At the end of my seven-month stint as a volunteer living and working in Hanoi, I feel it’s fitting to pass on some of the “wisdom” (charitably defined) I have accumulated over my time here. As such, in my final post to Good Evening Vietnam, I’d like to present five lessons for. 1 ‘Boil it, peel it, cook it’ … forget about it! Sure, the nom ga lady has whole, uncooked chickens flapping...

Not Going Dark
Keeping things out in the open. Tuesday, 27 March 2012. No test runner icons when using NUnit with CodeRush test runner. Recently, I experienced a problem trying to get the CodeRush test runner to run on my machine, here's the full story. After faffing around for quite some time I realised you need to install NUnit first before the test runner will work. So I headed over to www.nunit.org. Having installed NUnit all I needed to do was remove the reference to NUnit 1.6 from my test project and add a re...

Not Going Gently
Sunday, June 30, 2013. You fought the good fight, finished the race. We're still fighting, still running. Ev said the other day, "A lot has happened in just one year.". Family converged and honored Mom. The garage and car flooded. A new school year started. Ev returned to homeschooling. I got sick. Karis stopped eating gluten. I stopped eating gluten. Ev stopped eating gluten. Nate played football. We all cheered. Dave and I enjoyed a respite in Montana. Nate got the flu and we got bumped. I couldn't tel...
Not Going Gently | Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Other blogs and Twitter. Despite this, it also seems like a good time to end this blog. I started it to share my experiences in Cambodia, and that time is coming to an end. I leave Cambodia in three sleeps and will be returning to Sydney. Who knows where to from there. Thank you so much for sharing this time with me and I wish you all the best. What I didn’t know I’d missed. Pies – a big warm pot pie with a massive serving of mashed potato on the side. Clean dog...

Not Going Gently | The Strange and Extraordinary Story of a Dreamers Life
The Strange and Extraordinary Story of a Dreamers Life. January 26, 2016. Casey Porter (aka kSea flux). Connection / being seen. I was 13 when I first put pen to paper, and realized not only the fun but the magick, and most importantly, in my joyless teenage years, the therapy it offered. The therapy I desperately needed. When internet journaling came around, it took me a while to warm up to it, but eventually I did. All of the sudden, people could actually read. Of course, you are welcome to play along ...
