Sunday, July 12, 2015. Sailing Down the River 7/12/15. Sometimes spontaneous plans actually work out and a small group gathered at the Waalkes' house for a lovely pontoon boat ride up and down the Thornapple River this afternoon. Tuesday, July 29, 2014. The weekend I went to Chicago to see Billy Joel and almost came home with a pacemaker 7/18 - 7/21/14 - Part 2 of 2. Saturday morning in Chicago. What could be better? Thursday, May 8, 2014. We haven't been back to Grand Haven since February when we could walk on water. Today our temps were in the low 80s for the first time in many months so we took a drive out to enjoy the lake. The first thing we saw after we parked were these large kites. Later that evening we had the pleasure of sailing up and down the Thornapple River,. Where we enjoyed pink champagne and pretzels. With Ellen and Martin. We viewed entrepreneurs, and fishermen. The weather was cool and windy, it was a Thursday, and the butterfly exhibit was a few days away from closing so I'm thinking no one will be there and I can enjoy a peaceful walk. Built in the 1960s by the then German Democratic Republic, the tower is the highest structure in Berlin and has an observation deck and a revolving restaurant. St Mary's Church is one of the oldest churches in Berlin. The oldest mention of it was in 1292.
