"Prayer Changes Things" - Mormon Women Project

https://www.mormonwomen.com/2014/10/29/prayer-changes-things

Read Others’ Stories. Willie Mae Wright Douglas. October 29, 2014. 8220;The world may crush you, but you don’t have to fret. My God remembers when others forget. One thing I know, yes, I surely know. Prayer changes things.”. Tell me about your background. Finally I got a phone call from CORE, the Congress on Racial Equality. I went to talk to them. They wanted to desegregate the hospitality industry, so they were training people in non-violence and then trying to get them into jobs in hotels....I went fo...

Loving Allegra - Mormon Women Project

https://www.mormonwomen.com/2014/03/13/loving-allegra

Read Others’ Stories. March 13, 2014. Can you tell us the story of your daughter Allegra? In September 2010, after taking a pregnancy test in a Target bathroom, I learned I was pregnant with our fifth child. Already overwhelmed with the needs of young children, Mitch and I had to consciously choose to be excited about this baby so we would not resent it for the entire pregnancy. We knew from experience we would adore this baby the minute we met it. The genetic counselor told us 90% of babies with Trisomy...

Read Others’ Stories. Seriously, So Wise. Author of Seriously, So Blessed. September 8, 2010. The anonymous creator, brains and author behind Tiffany/Amber/Megan/Nicole shares why she started Seriously, So Blessed. The highly popular Mormon mommy blog spoof. She speaks candidly about how she responds to Mormon culture as an author and as a member, and why humor is such a powerful tool for helping us look at ourselves in an honest light. What was your motivation to start Seriously, so Blessed! I don&#8217...

"Just Go For A Year and See" - Mormon Women Project

https://www.mormonwomen.com/2012/02/22/just-go-for-a-year-and-see

Read Others’ Stories. Just Go For A Year and See. February 22, 2012. What were the circumstances that led you to go to Japan initially? I wasn’t interested at all, because I didn’t know anything about Japan. But my mother said, Why don’t you go for a year and just see? If my mother had not encouraged me, I probably would not have gone. I went to Japan in 1961 when I was close to 30 years old. It’s been exactly 50 years this year (2011). What were your living and teaching arrangements like? At what point ...

Jo's Life: Perhaps

http://johannasalt.blogspot.com/2014/01/perhaps.html

Life doesn't always come out the way we plan it, but it is still as beautiful! Wednesday, January 8, 2014. Once again in the friend zone! Lately, I've been contemplating withdrawing myself from the dating scene altogether , once again. I'm really tired. Tired of the emotional roller coaster. Tired of not knowing from one moment to the next where I stand. Tired of hurting. Tired of dreaming and wishing for the impossible. Yet, I still hang in there. Why? Perhaps because I'm strong and can make it through?

The Rail Way: Growing

http://candiceandthedrew.blogspot.com/2014/06/growing.html

Wednesday, June 18, 2014. If you did not know, we moved to the country. And we love it. This spring has opened my eyes to the demands as well as the bliss of land. I have spent countless hours working, fertilizing, and watering our bullet hard clay soil praying that something will grow. And it is growing. I still have not let anyone walk on it, I hold it so dear. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Shelfari: Book reviews on your book blog. No Telling Where We've Been. I believe in unicorns.

The Rail Way: Refreshment

http://candiceandthedrew.blogspot.com/2014/06/refreshment.html

Saturday, June 21, 2014. Yesterday, I found refreshment. Andrew came home from Scout Camp (bless him forever for that), we had dinner with our extended family, and I felt to go to the temple. I was oh, so, tired, but even the drive felt like a dip in the pool as I neared the House of Houses of the King of Kings. How grateful am I that Rexburg has a House of Refreshment? Their is such a great spirit to BYU campuses. The summer night was perfect. Wreck It Ralph' will never be this good. Here in our nest.

The Rail Way: The Flu

http://candiceandthedrew.blogspot.com/2015/02/the-flu.html

Friday, February 20, 2015. We have been sick. And I have to admit that it has been a huge shock for the entire family. You see, we do not often get sick. The moment one of us does (ONE of us), I beg Andrew to heal that person, and then we are on our way the next day. We are blessed to have a Dad has an extra special priesthood gift of healing, and we take full advantage of it. This has been our epic week of sickness, and blessing. February 20, 2015 at 1:28 PM. http://candiceandthedrew.blogspot.com/2015/01/lets-play-music.html

Tuesday, January 20, 2015. This is Steele's second semester in 'Let's Play Music'. He is thrilled to have graduated to 'Blue Bug' (one up from 'Red Balloons'). The program is genius. It is for pre-piano/violin students to learn advanced music concepts through play. At the end of the third year, he will have a recital where he has composed his own music. Labels: Lets Play Music. An equivalent centre of self. In search of understanding of myself, my neighbors, my community, and my religion. Tuesday, July 30, 2013. Transparent, Natalie Whipple. 81 If you've never read Natalie Whipple's blog. You should do so. Right now. Especially if you see yourself as an aspiring writer of any type. Her blog is refreshingly honest- and funny. Plus, she does her own anime art. Because Fiona is invisible. Even she doesn't know what she looks like. I though this story was cute. I liked Fiona as...

http://pressgrovefamily.blogspot.com/2009/12/merry-christmas.html

We may have to pack up and go in an instant, but were an eternal family, and well always make the best of our situation and pick up right were we left off. Friday, December 25, 2009. Today was a wonderful day! Adi had a blast opening ALL the presents! She didn't care whose they were she just knew they were presents and that they needed to be opened! She got a barbie airplane and her first 2-wheeler bike! I can't wait to get her out there and teach her to ride it! I don't believe in them! This time I want...

Double D: January 2011

http://dustindantzel.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html

Thursday, January 27, 2011. The Cure For Emotional Constipation. Hope I can get through this post. Kelliann's wedding day. The first time I've seen Washington State in four years. Aka WAY too long! She looked gorgeous. Also very French. We've known each other since age 11, when I used to incite her to riot against poor Sister Frenzel in Primary. She never gave in, but I sure had fun trying. Is anybody really surprised? I'm married, but I've always been married, right? Now my Kelli is married!

Believed my body was not my own. Believed my body was tempting, evil. Believed my body was only a tool. Was too carnal for perfection, too ugly to be loved. Was simply a gift for a matrimonial man, A means to bear and raise children for the delight of God, Was only for serving, working, […]. It’s a good body. It runs and explores and climbs mountains, gardens and sings and makes music. Recently it’s been doing a little light weight-lifting that’s been kind of a rush.
