An experiment with sounds and poetry
And finally, finally – see the actual performance | Musicalpoetry's Weblog
https://musicalpoetry.wordpress.com/2008/06/12/and-finally-finally-see-the-actual-performance
An experiment with sounds and poetry. And finally, finally – see the actual performance. June 12, 2008. Well it’s been a long time since the Ableton ‘challenge’ but finally we have the videos from the experience. Unfortunately the direct recording from the computer went belly up (the tutor’s iPod ‘went to sleep’ in the waiting time before we began! So the sound is just from the video cameras, which may have been behind the speakers and not set up to do the audio. Http:/ www.youtube.com/watch?
After the fact… | Musicalpoetry's Weblog
https://musicalpoetry.wordpress.com/2007/09/19/after-the-fact
An experiment with sounds and poetry. After the fact…. September 19, 2007. Well what a day and night – our final projects performed live at the Media Centre, Huddersfield. Exciting, nerve-wracking and most-of-all thank goodness I put a ‘stop all clips’ key in! I did consider using the mic through an Ableton channel so I could affect my live spoken words with a processor or effect – or both – as I performed. In the end though the mic was wired straight through the mixer). Videos of each of us performing a...

An experiment with sounds and poetry. It’s a record(ing). September 12, 2007. Anyway before I forget to mention it all together … recording, one of the key elements of my piece with the recording of audio from myself and Irene to make the sung and spoken clips from lines of my poem. The power came from the mixer ‘Phantom power’ but you can also use batteries in such microphones. TO SET ABLETON UP FOR RECORDING. TERMS AND CONTROLS DEFINITIONS. 100hz Roll Off button. Is when the volume levels go over ‘0’ a...

musicalpoem | Everyone has a story. This is mine.
Everyone has a story. This is mine. I Should’ve Gotten a Library Card Sooner. August 10, 2015. I have vivid memories of my mom taking my brother and me to the library each week when we were little kids. I was a fast and avid reader; I could never get enough trips to the library. I’d pore over the bookshelves where my favorite book series were shelved (. The Babysitters Club, Boxcar Children, Nancy Drew. It wasn’t until embarrassingly recently that I discovered I could check out ebooks from my local...

Music Can Change the World
Music Can Change the World. The Beatles once sang, "You say you want a revolution. Well, you know, we all want to change the world. You tell me that it's evolution. But when you talk about destruction, don't you know that you can count me out? Don't you know it's gonna be all right? Who says one person can't change the world? I'm doing my part. What about you? Wednesday, July 29, 2009. Oh hai blog peeples! Anywho, I really am going to blog more. Really! Sarah Palin (shocking, I know). It was well worth t...
