Musings from the Jon. Critiquing of the times we live in… and some music too. Newer posts →. It’s German for a whale’s vagina. May 17, 2010. 8220;Some people think I’m bonkers. But I just think I’m free,. With the release of Chris Morris’ Four Lions the question has arisen as to what is appropriate for a cinema going audience to view. A quite sinister fun-run. Peter Sellers in one of his three roles in Dr Strangelove shows how crazy a film really can be. Ridiculous and are so to prove their point. Co...

Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 1 Review | Musings from the Jon

Musings from the Jon. Critiquing of the times we live in… and some music too. The Devil you Don’t. Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 1 Review. Well, well, well, look what we have here. It’s Harry Potter. He’s all bright, and shiny, and new again, just in time for the Dark Lord. While others may be throwing around those cheesy adjectives to describe the latest installment into the Potter franchise, I think the best compliment that I can possibly pay it is that it is a film. It's a long farewell.

Revision books and chocolate milk. May 28, 2010. Study leave is boring me to death, although Biology Unit 1 wasn’t a total disaster, much to my surprise! Mostly, I think, due to Kate and I doing some intense revision just before the exam – O2 dissociation curve I’m looking at you! But Biology marking is just so subjective I don’t know what to think, but I’m going to learn Unit 2 really well just in case! By John Hart cause it looked half decent and I wanted some. I am not too ashamed to admit that I real...

In other news, results are soon… but I’m trying not to think about that. I’ve been watching an awful lot of dramas, made a terrible cake, am slowly picking up Swedish thanks to Wallander and listened to alot of Biffy Clyro. Very boring, but that’s life, right? Mmm holiday. →. Alas, I cannot swim. August 3, 2010. Actually, I can, I’m off to the pool in a moment in fact, but it’s a rather good song. This is what they’re raising money for: http:/ www.tapologo.org/. I think I hear the sounds of my mother about to get in the car, so, to the pool🙂. Oh also, feeling guilty – the repairman’s here to fix the window that ‘that cats’ broke. yeah it was cat, of course. Ahem. This entry was posted in Uncategorized. Mmm holiday. →. Alas, I cannot swim. Revision books and chocolate milk. Alas, I cannot swim. →. May 29, 2010. And didn’t cry? I thought it was supposed to be ‘The most romantic movie since Titanic’ and a total tear-fest! Am I wrong, or just a freak who doesn’t cry at sad romance? Also, Ryan Gosling who plays Noah Calhoun in The Notebook and Brian Fallon, lead singer of The Gaslight Anthem – long lost brothers? I couldn’t find a better picture of Calhoun without a beastly beard, but I still think they look creepily similar. Bach to the future.

A Circle of Three

A Circle of Three. February 09, 2017. Fully surrendered to God.  Our feelings, our emotions are meant to move us closer to God. As women we need to remember we dont have to fix things, deny things or pretend things away before coming to God. Can we simply allow ourselves to feel the brokenness and be ok with it? We can choose to be ok with the brokenness when we believe that Christ will always make a way for us. . Posted at 10:55 AM. February 06, 2017. Celebrate Who You Really Are. It saddens me to see p...

Earlier in life this might have seemed like a strange comment, but with the unexpected course life has taken, she actually was quite right! Musings from the Journey

Musings from the Journey. Life is the journey common to us all. Sometimes we travel together for a time, our paths cross, our steps fall into rhythm, we discover common ground, and draw from each others wisdom. Our lives are the richer for the journey shared. Sunday, 10 June 2012. Links to this post. Thursday, 26 April 2012. Changing faces - Autumn skies. Others brooding, glowering. Interplay of light and dark. Sun beam meets rain drop. Light refracts into rainbow arch. Cold, rainy, Winter-like day.

MUSINGS FROM THE KILN

MUSINGS FROM THE KILN. Tuesday, April 7, 2015. Wait and hope for and expect the Lord; be brave and of good courage and let your heart be stout and enduring. Yes, wait for and hope for and expect the Lord.". Psalm 27:14 (The Amplified Bible). Everyone hates waiting. This is especially true in our high-speed, broadband, microwave culture. We want what we want when we want it and waiting for it is simply unacceptable. But that's not what this blog entry is about.at least, not entirely. That is why God spend...

Musings from the Laundromat. Wednesday, October 22, 2014. A Mid-Winter's Day Nightmare. Guess what I got to do last week? After the eggnog, cookies, hors d’oeuvres, turkey, ham, wine and gingerbread, I went shopping for a bathing suit. I don’t know too many middle-aged women who enjoy bathing suit shopping at any time of year. But when the holiday over-indulgence chickens have come home to roost – on my hips and thighs - bathing suit shopping is the last thing on my list. I shouldn’t complain. If I fall ...
