Life With One Limb

Life With One Limb. Tuesday, July 26, 2016. Recently I had the opportunity to speak to a Cub Scout group, boys aged 10. Turns out their June focus was learning about people with disabilities. For me this was the perfect venue – my love for kids combined with my expert knowledge about being disabled. Disabled to all people, especially a 10-year-old. Disabled, my first question to them was “What is the very first thing you think of when you see a disabled person? 8221; and “How do they do things? I first q...

Life With One Limb: November 2015

http://myextraordinaryamputeelife.blogspot.com/2015_11_01_archive.html

Life With One Limb. Monday, November 9, 2015. My physical disability was quite obvious at birth. I had no legs and only one arm. The doctors didn’t even think I would live (interesting that a missing limb or limbs were a threat to life). Looking for answers, my parents were advised by the doctors that placement in such a “home” was their recommendation so my father embarked on a journey to find one that would best serve my needs. Would have I graduated from college? Would have I been employed? One should...

Life With One Limb: Dating With a Disability, Part 1 of 5

http://myextraordinaryamputeelife.blogspot.com/2015/12/dating-with-disability-part-1-of-5.html

Life With One Limb. Sunday, December 20, 2015. Dating With a Disability, Part 1 of 5. As a triple amputee, dating can be tough. I am a triple amputee, and this is my true dating story. I went through high school and college without a true “date.” While I wanted to date, I could understand why it did not happen. I had come to believe that the chances of finding a life partner were extremely slim. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Next Generation Indie Book Awards. Reader's Favorite Book Awards.

Life With One Limb: October 2015

http://myextraordinaryamputeelife.blogspot.com/2015_10_01_archive.html

Life With One Limb. Wednesday, October 21, 2015. Living with one hand definitely has its challenges. For example, try holding a newspaper open with one hand. 8230; no need to try… it is impossible. Reading the front page is okay but I really dread seeing “continued on next page.”. Many times, I look at the end of the article to see if it is continued on another page. If it is, I may not even start to read the article. Placing the newspaper on a table is an option but turning a page is still an ordeal.

THE EXTRAORDINARY

Friday, 20 September 2013. Prayer for the leaders. No one else would handle these things like you do, no one has more power or authority than you, and for that I willingly chose to give you every part of me. Would you move in the hearts and minds of the leaders who meet today at church? Let their spirits all be deeply refreshed in you and encouraged to keep walking in their new found confidence. Let their hearts break again for the young people this ministry serves. Thank you so much. We find our selves ...

My Extraordinary Adventure of Taste. Monday, June 10, 2013. Remember when I turned 26, and I wasn't GLUTEN FREE! For those who know me know I LOVE MY BIRTHDAY! And I have the best family and friends to spoil me on my special day, or week! Twenty Six for some reason feels like a big milestone. Maybe because I am no longer in the 18-25 age group and I now am with the group going up to 34! 34 sounds so far away! Anyways. I always love a reason to celebrate and even more fun celebrating me. So what did we do?

You don’t have to be; don’t expect to be all the time because… face it … being an amputee is not fun. This website and blog will hopefully help you find creative ways to overcome physical challenges and “bad” days. Some light-hearted humor helps too. 04/16/2015 at 5:29 pm. Your website looks pretty good Moni. 04/16/2015 at 9:37 pm.
