A place for me to share my love of cooking. and food. Saturday, March 24, 2012. The past few years, I have been gaining the weight I joyfully lost four years ago. I'm back up to my divorce weight, and feel completely disgusted with myself. So a week and a half ago, I started on a new journey. Eight pounds are now gone and I have a great motivator to keep me on my toes. I faulted last night by eating popcorn and drinking a can of pop, but it didn't do any damage and I'm back on the wagon today.

So, the idea came to me to do the scallops, salmon, and steak. my own version of surf n turf. The spices I used to blacken the salmon were: ground chipotle, paprika, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. The doctors suspected that if I had worn my seat belt that morning, I would now be a paraplegic. Pretty scary stuff. The look on my father’s face when he got to the hospital horrified me. Jul 14, 2013. To make sure you're buying chemically free scallops, look for "dry" scallops or chemical free scallops. I like to buy my scallops from Kokua Market. They're a bit more expensive there, but no water comes out of them and they taste really really good. If for some reason, you're can't find "dry" scallops, try this before you use the scallops. This tip comes from Cook's Illustrated. Armed with these great scallops, I made this scallop pasta. It's my best scallop recipe yet! 2 tbsp vegetable oil.
