My life in charleston. My musings on leaving the big city, to live the life of a southern lady in the low country. Old Village Mount Pleasant. Thursday, September 23, 2010. I love the glitzy, black patent bag, but the models are not cutting it for me. Very pasty, very alien, and not likely to sell me anything. W hite House/Black Market. The crafty, quilted blankets? The blue mop on top of the statue's head? A super skinny guy in white, tight, nylon looking pants, spreads his legs. I might mention tha...

My life in charleston. My musings on leaving the big city, to live the life of a southern lady in the low country. Old Village Mount Pleasant. Wednesday, June 19, 2013. Moving back to the south has inspired me to reinvent traditional dishes. I thought I'd try my hand at a corn pudding. When I first heard the words corn and pudding together, I was aghast. How could corn possibly be in a dish that for years I had construed to be a dessert? Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees. 2 tsp baking soda. 3/4 cup of milk.

My life in charleston. My musings on leaving the big city, to live the life of a southern lady in the low country. Old Village Mount Pleasant. Friday, September 17, 2010. I am mostly immune to advertising; I admit, I am jaded. However, there is occasion when I see a doozy that I just have to comment on. At this moment, there are two, one a national commercial, the other a local, Charleston favorite. It is so absurd, who sits around at a pool party, all glammed up discussing birth control? My regional fav...

My Life in Chapters. A Real Life Chick Lit Story in the Making. Chapter 16: Part 9 When it Rains it Pours. Posted in Chapter Sixteen. One day at work I reveal to my colleagues the hiccup in my plans to leave. Whilst disappointed for me, they are all optimistic I will find something. Monday, June 6, 2011. 2nd Response on "Girl In Translation". Sunday, May 22, 2011. Response on Prompt #6. To me, the term rebelling just means a way of going ‘against the system’, whether the system is the authority in your life, social norms etc. To learn who-we-are, we need to see where our moral beliefs and stance is. For example, do you think it is ok to be gay, or not? Why would so many people rebel though, if it does come with a high risk? Labels: acceptance vs. intolerance. Monday, May 16, 2011.

The Nanny Diaries: L'édition Française
The Nanny Diaries: L'édition Française. July 20, 2010. At the risk of looking like a complete moron, I've decided to post this. Ah, the countryside. Every cliché I’ve ever read comes to mind as I look around and see the endless sunflower fields, the slowly grazing cattle and the hunky, tanned boys on four-wheelers. I always considered my little town of Chaumes to be country . Century farmhouse in the french countryside a.s.a.p. s’il vous plait. Don’t you just love it out here? They’re vicious. And th...
My Life in Chess | "Chess holds its master in its own bonds, shackling the mind and brain so that the inner freedom of the very strongest must suffer." - Albert Einstein (1879 – 1955)
My Life in Chess. Chess holds its master in its own bonds, shackling the mind and brain so that the inner freedom of the very strongest must suffer. - Albert Einstein (1879 1955). Today I received a 1.4Kg tome. I have been looking forward to this book. Batsford’s Modern Chess Openings Fifteenth Edition. Often dubbed ‘the chess player’s bible’, this has been a standard source of chess reference for over half a century. I found this little bargain on Amazon. The full title is. Well, my complacency was to b...
