Finding my way as an empty nester. Saturday, July 31, 2010. Here comes the tomatoes! Every morning I water the garden and scan the tomato plants. We've got a bonanza of flowers, and the fruit is coming in slowly. This morning I was thrilled to spot a flash of red deep inside one of the plants (specifically on our heirloom Surpice). Now I don't put my hand inside of any of the plants - it's too risky. I might come in contact with a spider, or (god forbid) a slug. Can't wait for the rest of them to arrive!

Vrijdag 5 december 2014. Ik werk in Leiden en woon in Rotterdam. Dat is zalig, maar vaak ga ik er van uit dat mensen op m'n werk begrijpen waar ik het over heb als ik over Rotterdam praat. Alleen doen ze dat niet. En het kost me zoveel tijd om dat uit te leggen, dat laat ik dus maar. Soms vergeet ik echter dat mensen dat niet weten/kennen. Vrijdag 11 juli 2014. Nu we het toch over dansen hebben…. Ik let vaak op hoe mensen dansen in clipjes. Dat hoeft niet perse vlekkeloos te zijn, maar vooral de techniek. Voorbeeldje:. Hier wordt echt perfect in gedanst, naar mijn bescheiden mening. De muziek is een ander verhaal, maar het dansen vind ik echt prachtig! Dan heb je deze clip (uit "Singing in the rain"). Dinsdag 2 juni 2015. Wat ik vanmorgen al zei, het zit ietsje anders. Ja, we worden in de toekomst ID College, maar NOG niet. We blijven voorlopig óók in het pand bij het station (Leiden Centraal), over maximaal drie jaar gaan we daaruit en zullen we naar het pand bij Lammenschans gaan. Ik ben daar helemaal niet zo blij mee. Ik vind het een vreselijk pand bij Lammenschans! Maar hoe komt dat nou? Zo zie je maar, de media hebben weer eens de klok horen luiden, maar hebben geen idee waar die klepel hangt.

In this house, and they bore brunt of my fierce, albeit silent, resentment. How can they miss the big blue clothes basket filled with their clothes! They weren't even mine! I grew up on the edge between two small towns, Highland Park and Deerfield in a little 2-street neighborhood one house away from the main road. We were so close to the border, we were allowed to choose which school district we would attend, so Deerfield it was. My mother grew up just down the street from us and my Nana still lived there.
