The Amateur Baker - My Oven Adventures: Easter Baking?

http://myovenadventures.blogspot.com/2010/04/easter-baking.html

The Amateur Baker - My Oven Adventures. Do you have an addiction to cookies, squares and anything involving the word 'chocolate'? Are you an emotional baker? Do you make cookie dough for dinner? Me too. Weird. Saturday, April 3, 2010. I fail at Easter baking. I couldn't think of anything seasonal that I felt I could make. I'm great with Christmas, Birthdays, Valentines Day, and Halloween, but Easter had me stumped. As it turns out my room-mate was going to make a Gluten-Free Vegan Lemon Cake. My mother n...

The Amateur Baker - My Oven Adventures. Do you have an addiction to cookies, squares and anything involving the word 'chocolate'? Are you an emotional baker? Do you make cookie dough for dinner? Me too. Weird. Thursday, September 30, 2010. So wow, I suck at commitment right? The absolute master of starting projects and the forgetting about them almost instantly. I think I have short term project loss. It's a thing. Look it up. I'm good at eating, did I mention that? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I am a com...

The Amateur Baker - My Oven Adventures. Do you have an addiction to cookies, squares and anything involving the word 'chocolate'? Are you an emotional baker? Do you make cookie dough for dinner? Me too. Weird. Friday, December 24, 2010. Today when I get home I will be brining a turkey. I will also be making a coconut cream pie, squash, eggs benedict, cream puffs, and possibly some kind of rum based something. These are my pre-New years resolutions. The Amateur Baker - My Oven Adventures. Do you have an addiction to cookies, squares and anything involving the word 'chocolate'? Are you an emotional baker? Do you make cookie dough for dinner? Me too. Weird. Sunday, April 4, 2010. There are flowers on the table (and even a tablecloth *gasp*! There is sunshine coming through the windows. Everything in the fridge is pastel. There are many brightly coloured crumpled up foil wrappers on my floor. It's really too bad I have all this homework. T at the end?

Saturday, May 14, 2011. Blog Hiatus - Goodbye Edmonton, Hello NYC! Hey dudes, just letting you know that I'm going on a temporary blog hiatus. I'm heading to New York City tomorrow for an entire week and I'm planning to be too busy with shopping, shows and food to blog. However, I will be back next weekend with a post dedicated to everything I've devoured in the Big Apple - so stay tuned! PS If anyone has any suggestions on places to go - let me know! The Sprinkled Life: Carrots, spice and everything nice!

http://sprinkledlife.blogspot.com/2011/02/carrots-spice-and-everything-nice.html

Tuesday, February 1, 2011. Carrots, spice and everything nice! One of my absolute favorite cakes in the entire world is carrot cake. It actually surprises me how much I love it now considering how much I despised it as a child. But I guess most children aren’t too keen on vegetables in their cake…at least, I wasn’t. Oh, and no raisins. I like raisins in some things, but NOT carrot cake. I get furious when people put raisins in carrot cake. Yeah…I’m weird like that. Carrot Cake w/ Cream Cheese Frosting.

The Sprinkled Life: NYC - Food Edition

http://sprinkledlife.blogspot.com/2011/05/nyc-food-edition.html

Tuesday, May 31, 2011. NYC - Food Edition. New York pizza is unlike any pizza I’ve ever had in my life. It’s huge, the crust is super thin and they have the craziest and biggest selections of flavors. I loved it so much. I ate pizza almost every day…sometimes twice a day. NYC is pretty much the land of cupcakes. Every corner has a bakery and generally, that bakery has cupcakes. Look at that rosemary! Everything was so big and fresh, I wish I could do my grocery shopping there all the time…. One of the pl...

The Sprinkled Life: Peanut Butter Butterscotch Marshmallow Squares

http://sprinkledlife.blogspot.com/2011/05/peanut-butter-butterscotch-marshmallow.html

Wednesday, May 11, 2011. Peanut Butter Butterscotch Marshmallow Squares. So, when my dear friend Tim very kindly offered to de-virus my computer, I asked what kind of compensation he would like – hopefully in the form of a baked good. He specifically requested “those peanut butter marshmallow squares” and I immediately began my research to find a good recipe, as I had never made them before. And I’ve now rekindled a love for butterscotch that I didn’t even know I had. 1 cup peanut butter. My grandmother ...

The Sprinkled Life: December 2010

http://sprinkledlife.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

Tuesday, December 28, 2010. In the process of cleaning out my fridge yesterday, I noticed a large collection of brown bananas in my freezer. I commonly forget about all those bananas until I’m throwing a new one in and at that point, I usually make a note to make banana bread in the future…and then I forget. I used Joy the Baker’s recipe. And tweaked it a bit. I tend to use many of her recipes…because I trust her. And I didn’t want to waste those bananas! 3 to 4 ripe bananas, smashed. 1 egg, beaten.

The Sprinkled Life: Quick and Easy Quiche

http://sprinkledlife.blogspot.com/2011/04/quick-and-easy-quiche.html

Saturday, April 23, 2011. Quick and Easy Quiche. Hence why I don’t make quiche very often. Apparently, they aren’t as rare as I thought…. I had lots of broccoli and a fair variety of different cheeses in my fridge so I figured broccoli cheese was the way to go. As for the crust…I rarely buy frozen pie crust and my usual pie crust is a bit of a lengthy process so I found a quick 4-ingredient quiche crust. But enough yacking, on to the recipe! Broccoli and Cheese Quiche. 1 9-inch pie shell. While the pie s...

The Sprinkled Life: Theatre!

http://sprinkledlife.blogspot.com/2011/04/theatre.html

Thursday, April 21, 2011. So, I have a recipe post all ready to go but my image editor is being weird and I can’t edit the pictures right now…so I figured I would instead do a post about theatre – the other love of my life (besides baking…and Matt). For any of my readers who live in Edmonton and don’t have me on Facebook, I have a show opening next week! We both did a little press this week for the shows, so here is my interview with Global TV this morning. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The BEST Ch...

The Sprinkled Life: "And perhaps a sticky bun...or 4..."

http://sprinkledlife.blogspot.com/2011/05/and-perhaps-sticky-bunor-4.html

Monday, May 2, 2011. And perhaps a sticky bun.or 4.". Once again, I went on a bit of a blog hiatus. I blame my show. It was a blast, but it left me with very little time to blog. I did bake a lot though. Mainly props for my show…and I figured I might as well share some of them with you, in case you ever have to play a hungry little girl in a Sondheim musical one day. And eat at least 4…. Recipe adapted from Allrecipes Ooey-Gooey Cinnamon Buns. 1 tsp white sugar. 1 (25 ounce) package active dry yeast.

The Sprinkled Life: February 2011

http://sprinkledlife.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html

Sunday, February 27, 2011. Why, hello blog…it’s been awhile. I’m sorry for the major hiatus these past couple weeks. I’ve been so busy with work and rehearsals and then Matt’s parents were in town and so everything I’ve made has been stuff I’ve made before…as I try not to experiment with new recipes when I’m cooking for house guests, haha. But today I did some baking, as the remains of the carrot cake. And peanut butter cookies. I made had finally disappeared. Brownies are comforting. So I made some.

My Oven Hates Me. Try not to burn anything this time. Beef and Rice Bowl. November 27, 2009 by myovenhatesme. I think we’ve all got one of those go-to recipes – the kind where you always have all the ingredients on hand, doesn’t take long to cook and doesn’t take a lot of effort to put together. Not counting boxed dinners (hellooooo tacos! This is mine. I literally don’t have a recipe for it, and it doesn’t really need one…but I wrote one up anyway! Throw the veggies in.
