http://mys10v8.blogspot.com/2006/08/steed-was-purchased.html
The search, purchase, rebuilding, V8 conversion, and racing of a Chevy S10 purchased for $500.00. Wednesday, August 09, 2006. The steed was purchased. Whew, what a night. We bought the truck. We got there about 6 and started looking the truck over. This was the base of all base models. 2 wheel drive, 4 cylinder, manual steer, manual brakes, no a/c, 4 speed manual. Less crap to remove. Yeeha. The title signed along with the obligatory hand written "sold as-is" paperwork, we were on our way. Hey, I think I...

My S10 V8 - Body Work: Door Hinges
http://mys10v8-body.blogspot.com/2006/08/door-hinges.html
My S10 V8 - Body Work. This is a child blog to My S10 V8. This is to chronicle the body work history of the truck. Thursday, August 31, 2006. Well, I started to look at the door hinges last night. I mentioned in a previous post. On the main blog. That I had ordered the materials to make my own bushings and use those. I haven't started turning those on the lathe yet, but I did finally get to taking the doors off and really surveying the situation. Pictures of the hinges. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

http://mys10v8-chassis.blogspot.com/2006/10/initial-mock-up-of-motor-and-trans.html
My S10 V8 - Chassis. This is a child blog to My S10 V8. This is to chronicle the chassis history of the truck. Monday, October 02, 2006. The initial mock up of the motor and trans. We got a mock up motor together to bolt up to our junkyard trans. After getting the old motor mounts cut out, and plumb bobbing the centerline of the front crossmember, we were ready to drop our mock up motor and trans in place. We also shifted the motor about 2 inches to the passenger side to make room for fabricating headers...

My S10 V8: Deconstruction
http://mys10v8.blogspot.com/2006/08/deconstruction.html
The search, purchase, rebuilding, V8 conversion, and racing of a Chevy S10 purchased for $500.00. Wednesday, August 16, 2006. I started deconstruction last night. Got started on the interior of the truck. It's all trashed. None of it is usable. Since we're planning on racing this truck, it may just all get replaced with sheet aluminum. I got all the easy stuff out and got about half way through the dash. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Cleaning up the frame. The steed was purchased.

The search, purchase, rebuilding, V8 conversion, and racing of a Chevy S10 purchased for $500.00. Tuesday, August 29, 2006. Cleaning up the frame. I've done a little early reconnaissance work in finding someone to media blast the frame when we finally get to that point. Eric made some inquiries at the paint store when he was looking for the stuff to finish the dash insert on his 'vette. They told him the place to go was Gateway Company. After that, we'll spray it down with some POR-15.

My S10 V8: A strong possibility
http://mys10v8.blogspot.com/2006/08/strong-possibility.html
The search, purchase, rebuilding, V8 conversion, and racing of a Chevy S10 purchased for $500.00. Tuesday, August 08, 2006. I'm not sure which one of us first mentioned looking at an S-10 but I like the idea. Fairly light, a V8 will fit, easy to back-half, great support information online for the swap to V8 ( http:/ www.s10v8.com. So, we found an '87 S-10 ( pics. If we like it, I'll offer $400 and hope we settle on $500. That leaves $500 of our purchase budget for other things. Nice. Cleaning up the frame.
