Narrowboat Annie: August 2016

http://narrowboatannie.blogspot.com/2016_08_01_archive.html

Saturday, 27 August 2016. Liverpool visit Saturday 20 August to Thursday 25 August. Thursday 25 August: The leaving of Liverpool. John had to leave the front right engine mounting bracket off, as the studs had broken: Another job to get sorted quickly. Annie had to be at Mann Lock, close to Albert Dock, by 0800, ready for the CRT staff to see three narrowboats and a widebeam through all the docks and locks. Liana and Annie facing Liverpool 1 in Canning Dock, after leaving Salthouse and Albert Docks.

Narrowboat Annie: November 2015

http://narrowboatannie.blogspot.com/2015_11_01_archive.html

Saturday, 14 November 2015. A windy trip up the Trent. Friday 13 November . and back to a safe haven and victory! As it was dry and mild, John got the angle grinder out and cleaned rust and paint of the Z bar (tiller) down to metal and put a coat of iron oxide primer on it to weatherproof the new weld and improve looks. After winding (turning round) in front of the Clock Warehouse, we headed homewards, blown by a very strong wind. The Steamboat, Trent Lock as Liana crosses over. John A E Fox. John A E Fox.

Narrowboat Annie: December 2015

http://narrowboatannie.blogspot.com/2015_12_01_archive.html

Monday, 28 December 2015. Annie moored at Kingfisher Boats, Trent Lock. River Trent in spate at Trent Lock, Long Eaton. Boxing Day, 2015 at Trent Lock. The river is high, with the levels in the red, so no one is travelling on the river at the moment. Trees float by at several miles per hour . but Annie is safe in her moorings at Kingfisher Boats, and her batteries are now charged up again. She looks good with new black bitumastic on her hull. John A E Fox. Wednesday, 16 December 2015. More importantly, t...

Narrowboat Annie: River Weaver Wanderings pictures to come

http://narrowboatannie.blogspot.com/2016/09/river-weaver-wanderings.html

Friday, 16 September 2016. River Weaver Wanderings pictures to come. Friday 16 September 2016 up the Weaver from Saltersford to Northwich. Thursday 15 September Frodsham market and from Sutton Weaver Bridge to Saltersford. Wednesday 14 September A gorgeous day exploring the lower Weaver. Today, the plan was to travel all the way down the Weaver to the Mersey, so we set off inglorious sunshine through Saltersford Lock. They didn't answer either VHF channel 74 or the mobile, so we just arrived! John A E Fox.

Video blogs of a Narrowboat

Video blogs of a Narrowboat. Timelapse videos of my cruises. No Skeg – No Trip. October 5th, 2015. We were due out on Silhouette this week, but the Skeg has fallen off. Well another owner was out and the tiller went “all floppy”, when calling out Canal River Rescue they went under the boat and came back with Skeg in hand – it had rusted off! We had been given the option of having a hire boat for our week, but its not the same and we felt we’d rather go without and forgo the expense for our syndicate.

Narrowboating Adventures | Paul’s forays onto the cut

Paul’s forays onto the cut. October 7, 2007 by Paul. So in between long stints of working abroad I’ve been keeping an eye out, mainly on the various brokers websites. I saw a boat that appealed, so before flying out to Denmark I went and took a look. Then after a lot of thinking I made an offer. The vendor is also abroad at the moment so it will be next week before we can discuss things further. If the sale goes ahead then I also need somewhere to moor! Posted in Boat buying. Narrowboat Aussies

Bob Colebeck and Bron Marie met in 1999 in Paringa, in the Riverland of South Australia. Our shared passion for travel, music, literature and exploring life soon meant that we were planning to make new adventures a normal part of our lives. We also had to renew Bob’s UK passport and get a visa allowing Bron to settle with him in the UK for the duration of this adventure. And then there was saving the money to buy the boat and making sure we had been diligent with our superannuation savings to f...We don&...
