Una Vida in Chaco Canyon. May 17, 2006. Chaco Canyon, New Mexico. 01' 59.61" north Long- 107. 54' 43.53" west. Una Vida is one of the pueblo ruins located in Chaco Canyon and closest to the visitor center. Construction began about 850 A.D. and continued until it was abandoned along with Pueblo Bonito and Penasco Blanco. Experts don't believe there were enough residential areas to support everyday life so Una Vida was intended for ceremonial and political use. State, the sand provides the best preservation.

Chetro Ketl in Chaco Canyon. May 17, 2006. Chaco Canyon, New Mexico. 03' 36.59" north Long- 107. 57' 15.67" west. Chetro Ketl was the fifth great house started in the Chaco Canyon complex. Building started soon after Hungo Pavi was started, around 1010. Building continued on until around 1100. The land that Chetro Ketl is built on was raised above the valley floor by 12 feet. Soil was moved to create the plaza and possibly provide a more imposing ediface. Abo Pueblo and Mission. Scenery - - - - -.

Chaco Canyon, New Mexico. 03' 072" north Long - 107. 54' 43.53" west. Hungo Pavi was started in the 11. Century and continued for about 150 years. Lumber was brought to the area from forested areas up to 60 miles away. The sandstone came from the top of the cliff. The people who built this pueblo were considered. And were a mixture from the Chaco Culture to the south and Mesa Verde in the north. The pueblo probably started as an outlying community of the Chaco community. Construction started in the late 11th century and had ended by the late 1200's. Abo Pueblo and Mission.

CGarner and P.Wright. While we driving around Scotland we found that radio reception was pretty spotty. So, desperate for music, we found Moira Kerr's. Celtic Soul" tape in one of the tourist shops. This turned out to be an excellent choice and we listened to it over and over. Moira does a beautiful version of the song "Dark Isle" on the album and that was the inspiration for our site name.

Recumbant circle in the middle of a field. Close to Culloden battlefield. Chambered cairn with partial passageways. Small diameter but big stones. Cairn - Chambered cairn with top open to the air. Monument - Erected in 1956 to commemorate Battle of Culblean. Ancient stone circle with cairns. 2000 year old cellar. Bronze age circle and cairn.
