New Zealand Botanical

The vast majority of New Zealand's botanical species only exist in the wild, here in New Zealand. The land has been cleared for farming, 90% of wetlands drained for the same. Introduced animals such as thar, deer and the 70 million brushtail possums consume many of our native botanical specimens. The possums alone eat approximately 21,000 tonnes per evening. How many trees and shrubs is that? We have our own orchids and carnivorous plants, a fact not well known. To contribute images click here.

Milford Sound in South Westland is considered by many as the 8th wonder of the world for its awe inspiring scenery.
