"Languages to US": "Origin"

http://www.nihalsintrotolanguage.blogspot.com/2010/04/origin.html

Wednesday, April 7, 2010. April 8, 2010 at 12:19 AM. April 8, 2010 at 2:21 AM. Its interesting because if you look at the society, you can see the same philosophies practiced in its language. I would not be suprised to hear other cultures criticizing the imperfections of English, and Im sure English speakers criticize other languages just the same. In the end, all languages can be limited in paradigms of common held beliefs. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). POST QUESTIONS FOR EXAM 3 HERE!

"Languages to US": "Sentences" Chapter 9

http://www.nihalsintrotolanguage.blogspot.com/2010/04/sentences-chapter-9.html

Tuesday, April 13, 2010. In chapter 9 George Yule describes the “syntax” of a language. He claims that in two sentences like Nihal is driving the car. And the car is being driven by Nihal. The difference between these two, are what is called “surface structure”. Then there comes the “deep structure” as in It is Nihal who is driving the car. Is Nihal driving the car? "Languages to US": “Sometime me cry alone at night”

http://www.nihalsintrotolanguage.blogspot.com/2010/04/sometime-me-cry-alone-at-night.html

Wednesday, April 14, 2010. 8220;Sometime me cry alone at night”. The sentence “sometime me cry alone at night” is grammatically incorrect. The sentence could be “sometimes I cry alone, at night” or “I cry alone at night sometime”. The pronoun me is used instead. "I" is mostly used at the beginning of a sentence. Wednesday, April 14, 2010. Me Talk Pretty One Day. Having been born and raised in New York City, I have been around a lot of different cultures and ethnicity's all my life. For most of my life, I can remember meeting people on the street who did not speak English and I always wondered to myself “what’s so hard about the English language? Monday, April 12, 2010. Or did she whack a man with her umbrella? 8221; “Would that really be practical? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Talking Hands" by Margalit Fox.

languages in the world: Yule chapter 5

http://dika-andlanguage.blogspot.com/2010/03/yule-chapter-5.html

Wednesday, March 24, 2010. Phonology is the study of how sound are used in a language. Phonology itself is just one part of the language. It is amazing to know that people do not used certain sounds such as the nasilation (46). I was impressed to read that phonemes are considered as phonetic of the mind. I have never heard such thing before, I know that people can have thoughts, but not phonemes. I wonder how sounds are memorized by people? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Languages in the world.

Aside, from this, i also read in the article that there are many languages that are disappearing. These disappearing languages are otherwised known as "dying languages." Also, from the reading, i saw that Professor Kaufman found out that "New York City is home to as many as 800 languages.". May 4, 2010 at 3:13 AM. El bloc d'en Raul.

kawser in introduction to language: language at stake

http://kawserslanguage.blogspot.com/2010/04/language-at-stake.html

Wednesday, April 28, 2010. Language is the closest relative any human being could possibly have. Nobody can pass a day without saying a word or hearing a word. Even little babies have their own language no matter how funny it sounds. So far linguists have found out that are having more than 60000 languages throughout the world.Does not it feel amazing to hear that? How many languages can we think of? Maybe there are several hundred. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Kawser in introduction to language.

Monday, May 24, 2010. C) The main question I have about this reading, would be if their has been any drastic change in the research, since the investigation? D) Personally, I really enjoyed reading this document. The reason why is because as I mentioned above, we now have research of a certain language, that we can go into depth about and learn a lot of unique information about sign language and their “speakers.”. Sunday, May 23, 2010. 93 in English means "nine groups of ten, three.". Monday, May 3, 2010.
