Old Pueblo Ponderings: May 2008
http://cjc-oldpuebloponderings.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 22, 2008. I just started plotting a course across the country. As usual, it looks like the first night out is the only hotel night. I need someone to get a job in Albuquerque, mm'kay? Beyond that, tentative plans to hit Springfield, Louisville, Phili, then home in Maine. Had hoped to get up to Chicago on this journey, but it doesn't seem like that will happen, as my brother's family will also be in Maine at the beginning of July. Monday, May 19, 2008. Sunday, May 18, 2008. That's a quaint w...

Thursday, July 3, 2008. My staging packet arrived in the mail yesterday. It consists of information on when and where to report (Los Angeles) plus yet more paperwork to fill out before actually getting on the flight to Manila (on Hawaiian Airlines no less). It's starting to feel very, very, very real. Its hard to believe we'll be meeting in only 40 days! July 3, 2008 at 4:09 PM. I am so proud of you big sis! I can't wait to come visit you.i'll bring a hammock :). Love ya lots,. July 5, 2008 at 10:58 AM.

Old Pueblo Ponderings: Say Cheese!
http://cjc-oldpuebloponderings.blogspot.com/2009/01/say-cheese.html
Saturday, January 24, 2009. Every month, my family tries to do "family dinner." It's about gathering together- but it's also about trying new recipes, and spending time creating in the kitchen. Each month we try a different theme: we've done everything from Chinese New Year to "things on sticks". This month's theme is wine and cheese, (my mother got the Tillamook Cheese Cookbook for Christmas) and we're also using it as a little celebration of my stepfather's 75th birthday. You want the recipe? 1/2 cup f...

Old Pueblo Ponderings: November 2008
http://cjc-oldpuebloponderings.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, November 1, 2008. It's been a long time since August 27th, when last I posted. Much has transpired. Much of that is stressful, and I prefer not to rehash it. But speaking from the other side of those particular tranches I've traversed, things are looking better now. Like once the budget cuts come down (or keep coming down), but I have less of a sense of doom. That still may happen, but now I don't feel like it's going to break my neck. But I just wanted you all to know I'm alive.

Old Pueblo Ponderings: Tea Time
http://cjc-oldpuebloponderings.blogspot.com/2009/01/tea-time.html
Tuesday, January 6, 2009. While I did accomplish a thing or two thus far today, I still have quite a bit on the list of things that still need doing. However, I decided to abandon the office at around four this afternoon, swing by the library to pick up a book that I'm contemplating using for one of my classes, and then came home and made myself some tea. I'd feel a lot more elegant if I weren't in my sweats. Black tea, with these great little curls of mandarin peel in it. View my complete profile.

Old Pueblo Ponderings: It's Been a While...
http://cjc-oldpuebloponderings.blogspot.com/2009/06/its-been-while.html
Wednesday, June 17, 2009. It's Been a While. It's been a while. Since I've been here to update. And it's been a while. Since I've been inventive in the kitchen. It's been a while. Since I've felt like I could describe this space I'm in. And it's been a while. Since I've felt like I could confide in any one. But everything I can't remember as fucked up as it may seem. The consequences that I've rendered. I've stretched myself beyond my means. It's been a while. It's been a while. It's been a while. Things...

The Hillipines: Lucky Charms
http://hillippines.blogspot.com/2008/07/lucky-charms.html
Monday, July 14, 2008. I have, without a doubt, the best friends on the planet. Teardrops and tiki huts and toucans and celery seeds and messages in a bottle and courageous cats and prayer scrolls and margarita glasses and buffaloes and evil eyes and hands of Fatima and words of wisdom and horseshoe crabs and.Elvis. If this thing doesn't keep me safe and bring me luck, nothing will. July 14, 2008 at 1:35 PM. July 17, 2008 at 7:07 AM. Sounds like you had a BOBerific weekend! July 17, 2008 at 8:15 PM.

Old Pueblo Ponderings: August 2008
http://cjc-oldpuebloponderings.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 27, 2008. There will be no posts for a while.the universe has other plans for me. Sunday, August 24, 2008. Here comes the sun. I've always been an early riser. It's hard for me to recall a time when I've ever consistently "slept in". Okay, maybe the summer I was ten, but my room that summer was under the eaves of an old camp, and I could spend hours watching the shadows of the leaves cavort on the ceiling. Saturday, August 23, 2008. Good for the soul, good for the soles. So I'm sitting ...

The Hillipines: September 2008
http://hillippines.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 24, 2008. The next 2 years. Peace Corps will tell us our permanent sites on Sunday. Then it's off to visit them on Wednesday to see our schools, meet our counterparts and our new host families. It's like starting all over again. Only this time it's for real. I'm 95% sure I'm going to be in or around Roxas City on the northern side of Panay Island. Wednesday, September 17, 2008. Hot showers (no such thing here). Peanut butter (who knew I'd start craving it? Cold milk (another who knew?
