A DAY TO DAY MUSING ON LIFE IN RURAL LINCOLNSHIRE. WITHOUT CENSORSHIP. Tuesday, 29 November 2011. We were introduced to "the Tay Barn" at High green. Apparently we are the only ones who haven't been there. it's quite near Sonia's and it's an "as much as you can eat" place with every kind of cuisine on offer. 10 of us went and we were there so long that Norman started eating again at 3pm. Well it's nearly teatime! Sunday, 27 November 2011. Monday, 21 November 2011. Thursday, 17 November 2011. Yesterday, a...

The French Haute Route – 2013 | Love thy bike
https://lovethybike.wordpress.com/2014/03/05/the-french-haute-route-2013
A love of photography, cycling and exploring places on two wheels. Cycling colourful San Francisco. The French Haute Route – 2013. March 5, 2014. The wheels won’t be turning this year on the French alps and I am sad, it will be the first time since the beginning of the French Haute Route. That we will not be traversing those familiar high peaks and welcoming the early morning sunshine. Instead we will be taking part in a new adventure: the first ever Dolomites Haute Route. It was never a long wait at the...

Two Feet Off the Asphalt. Life and cycling in the Ozarks. Newer posts →. May 15, 2015. This has been Bike To Work Week here in Springfield. Some of us have tried to meet each morning to view the sunrise and afterward visit a local coffeehouse before heading on to work. My workday begins at 0700 and the coffeehouse visit is not feasable. But this morning we did get a sunrise after a few days of clouds. We met at the top of an urban parking garage. May 11, 2015. Through the winter, they met at coffee shops...

Two Feet Off the Asphalt. Life and cycling in the Ozarks. June 6, 2015. I know a lot of us have had nails or some type of spike through our tires. I even save mine as some sort of trophy, “Look at what I survived! 8221; But this last week I had a close call and was not aware of it until one of the fellows I work with called it to my attention. A nail through the inside edge of my right walking shoe. As I said, I did not know it had happened. The culprit now shares space with my other close calls. This en...

Weekends are off although I have on occasion had need to go in on a Saturday. I helped Jan with a Garden Plant Sale and afterward we were treated to a visit from our friends, Sam and Linda. Mike's Daily Journal and Rantings: April 2012
http://mikesaif.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Mike's Daily Journal and Rantings. Thursday, April 26, 2012. Well my dental implant finally came loose. It is a bridge of three teeth on two posts implanted in my lower jaw. For some reason, the screw on one of the posts broke and over the past two years, the other screw worked loose and eventually broke yesterday. It's more trouble than I want to deal with it. But I am ecstatic that I don't have to have surgery. It was bad enough the first time. Posted by Mike Saif. Tuesday, April 24, 2012. MS has sande...

Mike's Daily Journal and Rantings: Could Have Been a Wasted Weekend
http://mikesaif.blogspot.com/2012/08/could-have-been-wasted-weekend.html
Mike's Daily Journal and Rantings. Sunday, August 26, 2012. Could Have Been a Wasted Weekend. Well, I was really looking forward to my two races this weekend. They are the last two on the calendar. I don't race much, but I was in great shape for these races. The races were in Sedalia (2 hours away) so I needed to make a decision 3 1/2 hours before race time on whether to travel or not. I started packing this weekend and am in full England mode almost. We leave on Tuesday morning and arrive in England...

Mike's Daily Journal and Rantings: Could It Rain?
http://mikesaif.blogspot.com/2012/08/could-it-rain.html
Mike's Daily Journal and Rantings. Friday, August 24, 2012. There is less of a chance of rain on Sunday morning when my next race is. This is a road race so less chance of crashing because it's not a case of turning corner after corner. I might do this even if there is rain.haven't decided yet. Still hoping it won't be raining. Sophie is going to a friends house to be looked after while we are gone. That's much better than going to the kennels, so I'm sure she will be happy about that. Posted by Mike Saif.
