Hello inner crafty Mum…is that you? |
http://occupationmother.net/2015/07/17/hello-inner-crafty-mum-is-that-you
Hello inner crafty Mum…is that you? July 17, 2015. July 18, 2015. A couple of weeks ago I was lamenting the lack of craft and cooking activities in my toddler’s life. Well I am pleased to announce that I am a changed woman! All thanks to some super suggestions from lovely bloggers. You can read my original post and the replies to it here. Oh and Playdoh milkshake. My little tipone pot of Playdoh, one metal key. Stick metal key in Playdoh pot and voila! We have lots of paper, paper I can do. I can saf...
Where’s my inner crafty mum? |
http://occupationmother.net/2015/06/25/i-need-to-find-my-inner-crafty-mum
Where’s my inner crafty mum? June 25, 2015. June 28, 2015. A few months ago I wrote a post about an Easter Egg Hunt. And I how I channelled my inner keen activity mum to deliver said hunt. Well, not only did she turn up late and was pretty rubbish, but she did not stick around either. LJ is nearly two and doesn’t attend nursery, I fear he may be missing out on vital activities to help develop the parts of his brain that aren’t about throwing balls and beeping when walking backwards. I’m so proud. DonR...

Letter to my (unconceived) unborn second child. June 27, 2015. July 1, 2015. It’s your Mother here. People have been asking for months (and months and months) now: ‘do you want another? 8217; like you and LJ are cups of tea and they’re wondering if they should put the kettle on. Apart from balking at the assumption that ‘another’ will be easy to come by I haven’t really known how to answer this question and I think you need to know why. Continue reading →. Sleep regressions and me |

Sleep regressions and me. July 22, 2015. July 24, 2015. I can’t believe I’m writing this, thinking about this, googling this YET AGAIN but I am:. I know the theory of sleep regressionsthat they are a signal of progression. That my son will be experiencing marvellous developmental leaps. That previously alienated neurons will be finding ways of connecting. I’m happier than anyone will ever know that this is all happening for him, I really am. Waking up every two hours to feed for two/three nights. I don’t...

Two Lesbians' Journey into Parenthood. Days Out – Packing With a 4 Month Old. When we decided to go to Eastbourne air show. For the day I didn’t think we realised how much. We’d actually need to take with us to be prepared. A 4 month old is a tiny thing, all they do is eat, sleep and poop. Right? No They’re you but waaaay more vulnerable. We have everything if we just take my boobs and some nappies, but you absolutely need other stuff if you, say, want to be properly protected from the sun or kept dry.
Why have a naming ceremony
http://smallstuffandme.co.uk/why-have-a-naming-ceremony
Why Have a Naming Ceremony? I had never really seen the point in naming ceremonies. By the time you feel like attending (let alone organising) a social gathering after giving birth, it’s fair to say your baby’s name will be pretty well established. We just viewed this day as a matter of paperwork. We then had our big day wedding that weekend and the ceremony was performed by a humanist celebrant – a wonderful lady named. Having a humanist ceremony meant the wedding could be completely personalised. T...

Two wives looking for their baby. We are a British/Thai lesbian couple, living in Asia and trying to start a family. One year in the making. November 1, 2014. I’m not really one for remembering/celebrating the small dates but I did realize it was Halloween one year ago that two single cells fused to become what would grow into Squirt. I had my 13453. I thought he might be a little put out at suddenly being given. The companies have really got you, too. Do you want the simple box with no extra health ...

Two wives looking for their baby. We are a British/Thai lesbian couple, living in Asia and trying to start a family. Thanks for that, Judgy McJudgerson. November 27, 2014. In short, nope. These Mommas are not subtle, gentle or supportive with their strong views. Here are some examples of thinly veiled judgement I am dealing with in every different part of my life. Oh, doctors now think that SIDS is completely made up by women who suffocate their kids and then try to hide it! Perhaps, but we combat that b...
The wonderfulness of WW | Two wives looking for their baby.

Two wives looking for their baby. We are a British/Thai lesbian couple, living in Asia and trying to start a family. The wonderfulness of WW. January 18, 2015. A few people have asked why WW is named WW (wonderful wife). Firstly I chose this name poking a little, gentle fun at some other blogs who use the abbreviation DH (dear husband) which makes me gip a little. Secondly it is because my wife is, well, wonderful. Why wash clothes when I could squeeze one or two more outfits out of my tired wardrobe?

Annette, 3 Little Buttons. April 26, 2016. Inspire teamwork in your family. Last week Daddy Button came home from work full of beans after attending a corporate workshop. The person who had been leading the training, which had been designed to inspire the management team, had whispered a little secret to them ‘we play games’. I questioned Daddy Button. ‘Yes’, he replied, ‘games, you know, before work to inspire the team! And that’s when it hit me! Why hadn’t I thought of this sooner? Our new go-to game.

Occupation: Mommy « embracing motherhood as a calling
The mommy I want to be. A couple of times, my younger brother gave me a book of coupons good for taking Skippy outside on Saturday mornings. Those were some of my favorite Christmas presents! Skippy was a good boy, and lived a long life. When he died, he was sixteen years old. He still had a sweet personality and loved to be with his family. I’m glad my parents gave in to my incessant begging and let me get that puppy! This post was inspired by Buddy: How a Rooster Made Me a Man. With five children, I wi...

Working through stereotypes, splashing in puddles…. Confessions of an Anti-WAG. The Ten Types of Breastfeeding Mother I Was. August 15, 2015. August 16, 2015. I listened to a particularly odious rant on my local radio station about breastfeeding the other day. Yes Radio Solent I’m looking at you. Widely quoted across the press were the comments regarding the breastfeeding habits of two types of breastfeeding mothers: the ‘librarian typesearth mothers’ and the ‘classyyummy mummies’.
