Stormin' Normandy: Easter Egg Hunt
http://moniandbrad.blogspot.com/2013/04/easter-egg-hunt.html
Monday, April 22, 2013. After Brad came home from work the Saturday before Easter, he scattered some eggs around our front lawn so Clara could have a little egg hunt. She actually caught on and it was so much fun! It was also slow, due to her wanting another piece of chocolate in her mouth every other egg. Partway through, I looked in our mailbox and got the best package ever from my mom- perfect timing! What's this, Mom? Shake, shake, shake*. Sneak preview of our house. Stormin' Normandy: February 2012
http://moniandbrad.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 10, 2012. On our Mexican anniversary, we went into the town to explore all the Mexican goods. It's a good thing we didn't bring any money with us, or else Brad would've wanted that Packers Mexican blanket. Clara slept while we perused, Brad got to practice his Spanish, and I got to listen in. Doesn't Clara look sooooo innocent right when she wakes up? I think so too. She woke up at the beginning of our meal. I started to eat the best fajitas of my life when Brad made a weird sound. We fi...

Stormin' Normandy: July 2012
http://moniandbrad.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 23, 2012. She got so, so sick shortly after turning 11 months. A cough and slobbery nose kept us up a few nights in a row. She's so tough though- Clara pushed right through it. Clara finally has a "woobee"- or a lovey, if you will. It's a little silky with a cat hat attached to it. I just got her another one for her birthday, in case we lose the Kitty one. She'll be walking soon! Can Crawl up the stairs very quickly and will crawl down backwards with a little assistance. After a hives scare,...

Thanks for stopping by and checking out our adoption site! A letter for someone special. We are the Black family: Daren, Shannon, and Addilynn {And we hope to add many more names to that line! Daren and I flew to Alaska on January 9th, 2010 so that we could be there for Brittani's 22nd birthday on the 10th. On the 11th at 8:30 in the morning we got the call that Britt was in labor and about 12 hours later Addilynn Ann came into the world. That was the next best day of our lives. Time flies while you are ...

The Black Family: Brittani

Thanks for stopping by and checking out our adoption site! A letter for someone special. Meet Addilynn's Birth Mom Brittani, or as we call her around here "Mae Mae". When we asked Britt what she wanted Addi to know her as, she chose the name Mae Mae so that it would be easy for her to say when she started talking. It worked because Britt had her saying it with in the first 15 minutes of her birthday visit in January. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out our adoption site! A letter for someone special. Here we go again! Tonight my daughter is 16 months old. I can't believe how fast it all goes. It seems like just a few months ago that we were getting told that we couldn't have kids. a few months ago that we were putting our papers in. a few months ago that Brittani picked us to be her baby's parents. a few weeks ago that Addilynn was born. We are hoping to adopt AGAIN! Posted by The Black Family. We are Shannon, Da...

The Black Family: October 2011

Thanks for stopping by and checking out our adoption site! A letter for someone special. Well, we thought we were ready to get on the baby wagon again but we felt like we needed to wait a little bit and for good reason. Until today. Addi was diagnosed with FOP or fibrodysplasia progressiva ossificans. It is a debilitating genetic disorder that will one day render her immobile. This is a lot to process. Our perfect little girl has a lot to overcome. Please keep her in your prayers. Links to this post.

Stormin' Normandy: June 2012
http://moniandbrad.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 30, 2012. A Baby Lives Here. While Mom folds the laundry, Clara plays. Then, while Mom cleans up Clara's mess, the babe takes out all the clean, folded clothes from the laundry basket one by one and casts them aside. Repeat! Sunday, June 24, 2012. Growing up too fast. Pulling up on everything. Looking like a full-grown girl. Moving, moving, moving. And pulling everything of anything in sight. Yep, it's official! She's growing up too fast. Saturday, June 23, 2012. Stormin' Normandy: April 2012
http://moniandbrad.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, April 11, 2012. Clara is almost 9 months old now, so I'll try not to overlap what I write. She:. Has two very sharp bottom teeth. Has the worst stranger-danger ever. Wants to move, move, move. It's getting really hard to change her diaper. Still doesn't want a bottle, sippy, cup- she gets the liquid in and spits it back out. Wakes up twice a night, usually- I'll take it! Loves food. Eats all the regulars and particularly loves oatmeal. Laughs the most at night. Laughs the loudest at her dad.
