Our little remodel: Long time coming
http://ourlittleremodel.typepad.com/our_little_remodel/2010/11/long-time-coming.html
Laquo; Getting Settled. Moving day v.2 ». November 22, 2010. We laid down pavers and then mulched. Not exactly worth a blog all by itself. . And pictured above is one of them placed behind the new woodpile and the beside the leftover limestone from the retaining walls. . Ive also done some work finishing up the dog room, which is where we left off last time. This room is now about done except I will add a small desk and some cabinetry opposite the pictured wall above. And last of all, before the weather...

Lessons For My Kid: The Good Samaritan
http://lessonsformykid.blogspot.com/2015/01/the-good-samaritan.html
Friday, January 30, 2015. I read the illustrated Bible with you, Cruz, most nights. Last night we read teh story of the Good Samaritan. I am not a biblical scholar, but basically it's a story of a man who is found injured in the road. Jesus asks his followers who acts as the mans neighbor in the context of "Love thy Neighbor". Then we prayed about being good people and helping others. Then you cried. It was an amazing thing because you cried because you realized you were not a good boy at school,...You d...

http://lessonsformykid.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 30, 2010. Ashley did not give birth today. But it's good to see you are reading the blog. Childish huh? So what does this picture have to do with todays lesson? Not a damn thing. I was trying to think of a way to incorporate watching football with you and teaching my buddy CVP about being a football fan so I Googled "speakerphone football" and this pic came up. See how easy this is? 1 Start a second blog called Lessons for My Van Pelt- Seems too easy. So what is this post really about?

Lessons For My Kid: February 2011
http://lessonsformykid.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 10, 2011. Raising a Kid is Easy. Sicks kids are awful. No, that pic is not of Cruz when he's sick. it's his Uncle Gabe. I don't know how many times that I saw a kid out in public with a snot crusted nose, an eye that had schmutz on it, and looking really run down and though "what in the hell is wrong with this kids parents? Wipe the damn kids nose! Clean up his eye! What's wrong with you? There are two types of baby poops. Normal baby poops, and then "Oh my god I think Cruz swallow...

Lessons For My Kid: Don't Yell at People
http://lessonsformykid.blogspot.com/2013/04/dont-yell-at-people.html
Friday, April 5, 2013. Don't Yell at People. I have worked retail. I have worked insurance. I am a husband. I am a father. You can not scare, intimidate, or persuade me through yelling. I have mastered the art of finding a small dead space in my mind that I will hang out in while you get through your anger. You know what I have found? Most others have as well. When it comes to a point that most people freak out you can earn credibility by not doing so. 1 They might not be able to change your situation.

Our Little Red Saltbox.A step back to a simpler time of living. Friday, July 15, 2016. A Little Craft for Sale. I admit it's been a while since I last posted, but like all of you, life is very busy! I love summer, but I have to admit, it's a lot of work! Lawn mowing, weeding the vegetable garden, tending the flower beds, making jams and jellies, along with other canned goodies, and then there's the everyday house chores. I know you can all relate! Well today I have. A closer view of the pumpkins. This is...

Our Little Reed Family
Our Little Reed Family. I kinda think we rock. Friday, December 10, 2010. First Day of School! Dylan turning 3 meant all kinds of new changes for him education-wise. We've had 2 speech teachers meeting with him once a week for an hour for about the last year and a half, and there hasn't been a huge improvement. He's stopped saying some of the things he was before(backpack, map) but I think that's because we've cut down on his tv. Doesn't that face just say it all? Me being the crazie. Car' playtime. ...
Our Little Rehab | a tale of things that never go quite right
A tale of things that never go quite right. While the boy finishes the drum sander work, I am going to start working on bleaching the water stains out with oxalic acid. Hopefully it is the miracle that some people make it sound like. A few of the spots, especially the front entryway, are really going to need a bit of a miracle. That’s it for now, time for a little time off to do some wedding stuff…. Roll with the punches. Black stuff almost gone. We’re on a roll. My soon-to-be hubby and I are the proud n...

I’ve attempted to post so many times since posting Remy’s eulogy. On June 5th and my fingers just stopped working, my brain just went to mush and tears rolled down my eyes. It may sound contradictory to the message I set out to send. A message Remy embedded into so many, but it was a piece of me that seized to work and maybe it is just because I feel the urge to honor her on this special day that am able to do it today. December 25, 2011. June 5, 2011. I know that many of you who wanted to be there for R...

Our Little Reviews
Monday, May 16, 2011. How Teething Robbed Us of Our Happiness. I have a happy baby. I'm not sure if you know that. He smiled when he was just a wee wisp of a person, and laughed before he was a month old. I even made a video. About him smiling when he was a month old. People comment all the time about what a good-natured, happy little guy he is. Kid Is. Happy. (I'm not bragging, as we obviously just got lucky. We won the baby lottery.). Gnaw our faces off. We were all, "Huh? WHERE IS OUR HAPPY BABY!
