Witch Mom: October 2013

http://parentingbythelightofthemoon.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html

Monday, October 28, 2013. Mandragora Spirit by Johnathan Blackthorn. This post by me originally appeared on the Samhain's Siren's group blog on October 10th, 2013. Recently on a hike with my apprentice, the wind rustled through the trees and I got a feeling of euphoria and joy- coming to me from a very specific tree. “This is how we move” said the tree. “You move from within, we move from without. ” The tree was delighted to be moved in this way. Witch Mom: March 2013

http://parentingbythelightofthemoon.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html

Friday, March 29, 2013. Ask Me Anything: Evil. He is known by many names and is NOT evil. I was recently asked by a reader to explain how I think about the nature of evil. This came on the heels of an interesting Facebook discussion on a fellow blogger's page about the same subject. So I have been mulling it over. Most things we tend to classify as "evil" tend to fall into two camps: 1. things that we are frightened of and do not understand and 2. disconnected beings who commit great atrocities. When I w...

Witch Mom: November 2013

http://parentingbythelightofthemoon.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html

Monday, November 4, 2013. Some Witch kin came to visit for Samhain, and did fun (and ritual) ensue! While I cannot disclose what we did on Hallowmas, I can share some photos with you! C makes a stand-in for the sacred king out of plants foraged in the neighborhood. An altar to some of our dead. The cauldron awaits the King and his sacrifice. The red rose burned and turned a bright blue. Posted by Witch Mom. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Village Witchery for the Internet Age!

Monday, December 9, 2013. Shown on the altar now: A rectangular wood box and an acorn shaped box given to him by us. A dried green leaf from our mulberry tree. A black walnut. A rock from the Indiana Dunes. His "owl nut". Acorns. An evil eye necklace from Grandma. A cicada carapace. and "tree pom poms". Posted by Witch Mom. Links to this post. Monday, December 2, 2013. Witch Mom: Hello there.

http://parentingbythelightofthemoon.blogspot.com/2014/10/hello-there.html

Tuesday, October 28, 2014. As you can probably tell, this blog is very inactive. It may be resurrected as a regular project again one day- but most of my time and energy is going into Boline Apothecary. Shop, webstore, and needs. Feel free to browse the archives here- there are lots of articles that I am mighty proud of on parenting, Witchery, philosophy, and more. Posted by Witch Mom. Comments are welcome but moderated. Sabbats | Rowan Hale

https://rowanhale.wordpress.com/sabbats

Tales of a Southern Pagan Mom. The Sabbats are our ‘holy days’. We hold special celebrations, or ‘rituals’ on or around these dates. There are eight Sabbats in the Wheel of the Year. Four are Quarter Days, also called ‘Lesser Sabbats’ or ‘Low Sabbats’. These are the equinoxes and solstices. At the midpoint between each of these events, come the four Cross-Quarter Days, also called ‘Greater Sabbats’ or ‘High Sabbats’. Yule (celebrated on the eve of the Winter Solstice; on or around December 21). You are c...

Magick Mirror: December 2010

http://magickalmirror.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

The Reflective Grimoire of a Green Witch. Monday, December 20, 2010. Well loves. here I am, four days later, and no closer to getting things done than I was a week ago! I've actually gone backwards. I am so not ready for Yule. I told you before that my youngest, Georgi, became very ill with a severe case of croup on Wednesday. She spent all night in the ER on Thursday and we were both miserable all day Friday after having no sleep the night before. I am still trying to recover. Thursday, December 16, 2010.

Esbats | Rowan Hale

https://rowanhale.wordpress.com/esbats

Tales of a Southern Pagan Mom. There are multiple definitions of Esbat. Some consider and Esbat to be any meeting that is not a Sabbat. Some consider an Esbat to be only Full Moon rites, while others consider all Moon Rites to be Esbats. Since my group celebrates both Full Moon and New Moon rites, I consider both the Full Moon and the New Moon (or Black Moon) to be Esbats. Hi, I read coffee cups, Tasseography. http:/ www.yesimgumus.blogspot.com. Nice you are interested, its amazing! Follow Rowan via Email.

Witch Mom

Thursday, February 15, 2018. My child has been going with me on field trips to other religions' houses of worship lately, because I teach "Neighboring Faiths" at the local UU to middle schoolers. Last week, we went to a Catholic mass. I personally was admiring how everyone was on the same page with the hymns, call and response, and how beautiful the sanctuary art was. Mass ritual can be so soothing, you know? Things my little witchlet did not understand or like:. 1 "Why do they have dead Jesus everywhere?

Parenting by the Seat of My Pants

Wednesday, February 24, 2010. How I Met My Husband. We were home visiting from college. We attended the University of Oregon in Eugene, about 100 miles south of Portland. Ironically, he wasn't from Portland and neither was his roommate. He isn't even sure why he was in the city that night. I don’t even remember if we had dinner. The only reason I remember the movie is because years later I found the ticket stubs. Our relationship wasn’t even serious enough for him to invite me to his graduation&#46...

Parenting by the Seat of Our Pants. Thursday, May 13, 2010. I put the wheels in motion a few days ago (sometimes karma is fast-acting) while disposing of a cache of promotional e-mails: Right before hitting the delete button, I had a change of heart and forwarded my latest World Market message to Kevin. It said:. I was thrilled for him. Being a parent of five means little time for study and reflection, and Kevin said this came at a really good time-. Exactly what he needed. Wasn’t the problem! What this book does very well is highlight the exact issue that parents - especially first time parents - face, what do I do and what is normal. It does this by showing that everyone's experiences are so wildly different: from home births to breast-feeding, C-sections to screen time for toddlers. This acts as a good reminder that no one really knows anything, and yet they are doing a great job. And most importantly it’s going to help raise money for kiwi kids with dyslexia.
