Joy in the Journey. As far as the eye can see… By James Higdon. America, The Golden Dream. Posted by pastorhigdon in Uncategorized. 1 comment so far. Yesterday I shared with you how freedom may be an “Impossible Dream,” but a dream which we must continue to pursue no matter the cost. Today on this 4th of July, I want to share with you that this great experiment in democracy, this “Golden Dream” has been a part of our DNA from the very beginning. Keep on flying high…. America, spread your golden wings.

Joy in the Journey. As far as the eye can see… By James Higdon. Posted by pastorhigdon in Uncategorized. I thought long and hard about discussing the theological, moral and ethical implications of this song. I also thought about sharing with you my thoughts on the statement that this song makes about society and our roll of caring for our brothers and sisters. But instead, I thought I would just encourage you to watch and decide for yourselves🙂. It did make you smile didn’t it? Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Joy in the Journey. As far as the eye can see… By James Higdon. Posted by pastorhigdon in Uncategorized. As I pause this evening for a few minutes of quiet contemplation before the excitement of the family gatherings, picnics, and fireworks extravaganzas kick into high gear. I wanted to take a moment to share with you what our nation, this extraordinary experiment in democracy, this shining beacon of freedom around the world, means to me. Reflections of a pastor journeying toward wholeness. About Me …. September 24, 2013. Then I took a deep breath and plunged forward, entering into my weight tracker that number on the scale. It was 21 pounds higher than my last entry in June and 29 pounds higher than that beautiful May day when I celebrated 90. And so I begin again, grateful for second chances, claiming my new favorite number 61. Until next time, peace. This entry was posted in Uncategorized. September 24, 2013 at 7:07 pm. Believe me, my young friend, there is nothing – absolutely nothing – half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats. Kenneth Grahame, The Wind in the Willows. It Won’t Float! June 10, 2014. As you might be able to tell from the long time between blog posts, my work on “Journey” came to a sudden halt around the first of April. A Lot Done… But Nothing Accomplished! January 27, 2014. Monday, October 6, 2014. School Started and Everyone is Running! I usually write a letter like this in the beginning of Advent. Slow down, take a breath, don’t let yourself get so overwhelmed. But, since the start of school, what I’ve been noticing, is all our families seem to be running. Right now we have soccer, baseball, softball, hockey and cheerleading. Dance, Girl Scouts and special after school classes have started. Our young families are running around trying to keep up. Where is your passion?
