Digging In the Dirt: The Power of Life and Death
http://leighramsey.blogspot.com/2014/06/the-power-of-life-and-death.html
Digging In the Dirt. Thursday, June 26, 2014. The Power of Life and Death. He emerged from the pool with a look of exhilaration. My little boy had successfully jumped off of the diving board into the deep waters without the assistance of floaties. He was so proud of his accomplishment! I was so proud of him for overcoming his fears. What he said next is what caught me off guard and broke my heart for just a moment. Breathlessly, he asked, "Mom, was that good? I left the name blank intentionally. I've hea...

Kids are doing great in school, Clara loves her preschool program, and Charli is becoming so much more fun! Rita had her 3rd baby girl about a month ago! We now have an Emeline and Emma June in the family! Easter Egg Hunt at the Church next door to our house. Play time with dolls. It's been so long...

Wednesday, July 31, 2013. July 4th Celebration Trip - Mom and Dad's New Home. Mom and Dad moved to Celebration, Florida for a few years for Dad's job in the Spring of 2013. Wendy and I and our families took a visit July 4th week to see their new home. Their town is about 10 minutes from Disney, a picturesque, perfect little community with pools, splash pads, trails, tennis courts and great restaurants. Sy and Jared participated in a Super Hero contest downtown on the Fourth of July. Such a fun trip! It's ...

Digging In the Dirt: Never a Dull Moment
http://leighramsey.blogspot.com/p/never-dull-moment.html
Digging In the Dirt. Never a Dull Moment. Children are quite entertaining. I love listening to them interact with one another. I love hearing their explanation of the world around them. I don't love it when they are disrespectful, but I have to admit that I am often entertained by their reactions. I would love a record of these moments. I thought maybe I could record it on here. Maybe someone else will be entertained as well. :). One of my children had received a bit of discipline. He began to argue ...

Digging In the Dirt: The Elijah Letters
http://leighramsey.blogspot.com/p/elijah-letters.html
Digging In the Dirt. My precious 5th child was born very, very sick. During that time, God revealed Himself to me in ways I never dreamed. I had no guarantee that my little boy would survive his illness, many with the same illness (PPHN), do not. What I did know is that I would never be the same, and my walk with God was deepened tremendously. Below are the letters:. All of the above? Let me begin by thanking all of you for your prayers. They are working! How amazing and what a precious gift you have all...

Digging In the Dirt: White Shoes, Christmas Decor and Other Offenses
http://leighramsey.blogspot.com/2014/11/white-shoes-christmas-decor-and-other.html
Digging In the Dirt. Friday, November 14, 2014. White Shoes, Christmas Decor and Other Offenses. I say this with a bit of tongue-in-cheek undertone, but I just want to post this to support my fellow controversial friends who either need or want to put their tree up early. I see a LOT of people posting their disapproval of this decision on social media. I was sad to learn that one of my favorite Christian artists is heading up a campaign about it! String up your lights! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Digging In the Dirt: Ice Buckets and Donations
http://leighramsey.blogspot.com/2014/08/ice-buckets-and-donations.html
Digging In the Dirt. Monday, August 25, 2014. Ice Buckets and Donations. I've been trying to figure out how and when to post this. I don't mind speaking out at all, but I don't want to sound condemning. Something about social media has turned us into a very voyeuristic opinionated society. Everybody has a platform these days.or at least they attempt to. I do NOT want to become a heartless, clanging cymbal. (1 Corinthians 13:1. So what can we do? Well, I've seen many who have sent their money to. Their we...

Digging In the Dirt: Stuff Just Got Real!
http://leighramsey.blogspot.com/2014/07/the-guest-pastor-at-our-churchsunday.html
Digging In the Dirt. Thursday, July 3, 2014. Stuff Just Got Real! The guest pastor at our church Sunday really made me think. He was talking about sharing the "good news". He talked about being real. He talked about Facebook. This is a place where I struggle. I don't feel comfortable with the thought that someone would see my smiling family and assume that is how we appear every moment. Still, I am very uncomfortable sharing frustrations that I might have with my children, husband, family or friends.

Digging In the Dirt: Poetry
http://leighramsey.blogspot.com/p/poetry.html
Digging In the Dirt. Digging in the Dirt". I prepared my gift with eagerness, wrapped with a bow of green. I lowered my head and placed it at the feet of the King of Kings. He inspected it and smiled a smile that made my spirit sing. Lift your head," He told me, "I'm pleased to say, I love your offering.". Yet, this gift does not contain the thing I've requested of your heart. Keep digging, seeking, listening for the message I've told you from the start.". The excitement left as the digging continued, ho...
