An appreciation of good cake. Laquo; Autumnal Bakewell Tart. Tomato, Bean and Bacon Soupy Stew. November 9, 2011 by Arlene. I own too many cookbooks. Ok, maybe not too many. (How many is too many? But last night, I vowed to make something from one cookbook I had never used before: Nigel Slater’s Real Cooking. I’m also on a ‘living leaner’ buzz, thanks to Móna. This is also a recipe you can go as fanc...

Cook love. share. Friday, April 27, 2012. We’re back to cupcakes. Again I know, it has only been a couple of weeks since our sweet peep cakes, but a birthday is no time to slack on dessert! This particular occasion called for something fun and festive, and you don’t have to be a kid to appreciate these (though it might help). I have seen pictures of a similar rainbow candy cake and thought I would give it a go myself! My very favorite cake is yellow butter. Yellow cake and whipped frosting. White royal o...

Raspberry Coconut Macaroons | Things we make
https://thingswemake.co.uk/2012/04/07/raspberry-coconut-macaroons
As seen in…. Fresh From the Oven. Posted on April 7, 2012. Do you ever see a recipe and get the feeling you are going to have to try it out? I got that feeling when I saw these raspberry macaroons from Smitten Kitchen. The idea of smooshing fresh raspberries into a simple coconut macaroon is inspired. I particularly like that fact that many different iterations have already been baked, so this is a recipe that’s refined and ready to go. 8230;because they’re all gone. Larr; Egg #1. My Fare Foodie.: Caesar Croque Monsieur

Thomas and I are fortunate enough to have traveled to France a number of times. As seen here. Without fail, Thomas always eats one or two (sometimes three! Croque monsieurs per day while in Paris. He absolutely loves these fancy-sounding grilled ham and cheese sandwiches. Typically, the croque monsieur is made with ham, Béchamel sauce, and Gruyère or Emmental cheese. Now that I’ve explained what a croque monsieur is, you’re probably wondering what Béchamel sauce is, right? 1 cup grated Gruyère cheese.

Healthy and Indulgent Meals Dangling in Front of You. December 10, 2011. I made these for my friend, Parisa’s, birthday. Parisa happens to be a chocoholic (my favorite kind of person, in fact). One of my favorite parts about bringing in birthday cupcakes for my co-workers is the excitement they have in choosing which one they want (I have since upgraded to making an actual menu that they can choose from…which could have been two pages long…so many cupcakes to try! 3 ounces semisweet chocolate chips.
