http://philsworkbench.blogspot.com/2015/08/nifty-packing.html

A blog about making model trains, little boats and both real and model automobiles. Typed by someone with painty hands, oil under his fingernails and the smell of solder in his nostrils. Wednesday, August 12, 2015. I love flogging stuff on eBay but once the initial joy of selling your item has paaseder, the hassle of packing the thing up to survive the ravages of the postal service rears it's head. Posted by Phil Parker. I am officially jealous of you now, those are lovely. Nowadays I build and exhibit m...

A blog about making model trains, little boats and both real and model automobiles. Typed by someone with painty hands, oil under his fingernails and the smell of solder in his nostrils. Tuesday, August 11, 2015. Facebook tells me that a year ago, I was on the Isle of Man looking at steam trains. That seems a good enough reason to post this picture from the visit of the fabulous SteamPlex to be found on the Groudle Glen Railway. If you wonder what it sounds like, enjoy the video below:. Phil's Workbench: Is this how reviews should be?

http://philsworkbench.blogspot.com/2015/08/is-this-how-reviews-should-be.html

A blog about making model trains, little boats and both real and model automobiles. Typed by someone with painty hands, oil under his fingernails and the smell of solder in his nostrils. Sunday, August 09, 2015. Is this how reviews should be? In discussions about model railway magazines, one title that is often held as an exemplar is "Model Railways", at least in the days before it was sold to an evil publisher who dragged it downmarket. As you can see, despite these being major RTR releases, the only pi...

A blog about making model trains, little boats and both real and model automobiles. Typed by someone with painty hands, oil under his fingernails and the smell of solder in his nostrils. Monday, May 18, 2015. This week's puzzle. Why does anyone need an egg timer on the end of several feet of string? And they need one enoug to groove the bit of wood, attach the timer properly and fit a loop to tie the string to. Posted by Phil Parker. Did it belong to a schoolteacher? http://philsworkbench.blogspot.com/2015/05/you-used-to-be-able-to-buy-burberry.html

A blog about making model trains, little boats and both real and model automobiles. Typed by someone with painty hands, oil under his fingernails and the smell of solder in his nostrils. Saturday, May 16, 2015. You used to be able to buy Burberry check paint. Some old paint tinlets discovered at the back of a drawer. Paint is ST/G/14 - presumably not a number - Buff. No idea how old it is, but it's still liquid. The Humbrol isn't actually Burberry check colour, it's 133 Deltic Blue and also still liquid.

Wood End and Beyond. The Early Years 78-93. Wood End - The Original. Froxington - The Flop. Morton Stanley 0-16.5. Thursday, 6 August 2015. On my usual walking route into town I pass over a tunnel mouth. Unusually the railway passes directly under the centre of town and under the 12th century castle. Reckon they'd get away with that today? 7 August 2015 at 10:26. I think Peco used to do a moulding for this. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Iain C. Robinson. View my complete profile.

Wood End and Beyond. The Early Years 78-93. Wood End - The Original. Froxington - The Flop. Morton Stanley 0-16.5. Is a small 4mm scale 009 layout built purely to illustrate a book project. The brief was to build a layout from the ground up using simple kits and then scratch-built items for all buildings and rolling stock. The choice of design was aimed at what a novice could build within a reasonable amount of time with a small toolkit and limited space. The track layout from John Ahern's Gammon End.

lnr model making: January 2015

http://lnrmodels.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

Happy New Year Readers! Well, where did 2014 go? I know a lot of it for me went in unfinished personal modelling projects, but I was rather pleased with the row of cottages that I salvaged from disaster, and the viaduct. If you want to have a look at his epic thread on RMWeb, it's here:. Http:/ www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php? A lot of my models have been stand alone constructions and have not been bedded in to scenery, so it's been nice to finally see something in-situ. Tuesday, January 06, 2015.

The Caffeinated Engine Driver: The Minimalist Look

http://caffeine-train.blogspot.com/2015/08/the-minimalist-look.html

The Caffeinated Engine Driver. Thursday, August 13, 2015. Which is actually a slightly different Hudson-Hunslet design). While it all fits nicely, I'm not convinced it's the best cab design. I think of it as the sunhat of cabs; it will keep the sun off but if there is any rain you're still going to get very wet and miserable. Now I know the cutout works though I can have a look at a more enclosed cab. Labels: 24hp Hudson-Hunslet Diesel. August 13, 2015 at 8:28 PM. August 13, 2015 at 8:34 PM. Iain Robinso...
