Wherever our wheels take us. Thursday, September 15, 2011. A Leaning Tower, Sun, Surf and Steep Climbs. On our way to The Cinque Terre we had a short stop in Pisa to check out the leaning tower. When the bus stopped we were swarmed by African people selling sunglasses, umbrellas and almost any other cheap trinket you may be looking for. With the thousands of tourist visiting this area the tour buses have a large parking area and from there we take a local bus to a drop off point. The latest was in 1990.

After being back home from Kananaskis for a week we drove to Vancouver where we boarded the Celebrity Century for a 7 day Inside Passage cruise to Alaska. The scenery is absolutely stunning. This honour goes to St. Rufino who was also the first bishop of Assisi in the 3. Century. Assisi dates back to the 3. Century and became a flourishing Roman municipality. After the fall of the Roman Empire Assisi went through a considerable period of wars and ruled by the Goths and later the Byzantine and later the Lombards.

Wherever our wheels take us. Thursday, August 18, 2011. On this trip we will be traveling throughout the northern and central part of Italy for the first 20 days. We will then board the Celebrity Equinox for a 11 day Eastern Mediterranean cruise. We will complete our Italian adventure with 3 days in Sorrento before heading home. Tuesday, August 2, 2011. Wherever our wheels take us. Saturday, October 27, 2012. Our Liverpool and London Visit. Before London, we spent 3 days in Liverpool getting together with Sue a second cousin of Donna and Diane. It was wonderful to also meet Sue’s former sister-in-law and best friend Carol and her partner Dave. We had a wonder afternoon and dinner together. The following day Ron and Brenda from Newton Le Willows were kind enough to drive to Liverpool to spend time with us. Is now a vibrant and happening part of the City.

We had a warm sunny day to visit the nearby towns of Puerto Varas. Puerto Montt has a population of approximately 155,000. It is certainly a lot larger than we had anticipated. Wherever our wheels take us. Thursday, April 4, 2013. This morning we woke up to another day of brilliant sunshine and blue skies. We have been very fortunate on this trip in that we have very little rain or overcast days. Our destination today is the resort village Hermanus, a drive of about 3 hours. We left Franshhoek and immediately climbed about 13 km over the Franschoek Pass. We had fantastic views of the valley. We had previously driven along the other side of False Bay on our drive to Cape Point.

We left our winter home of Meridian RV Resort and spent a couple of nights in Las Vegas. It had been about twenty years since Donna and I last visited Las Vegas.
